With the clock ticking toward a showdown, Israel floated the possibility of an interim solution to allow the Palestinians to establish a state within existing borders in Gaza and the West Bank and deal with all the tough stuff later, reports CBS 2s Marcia Kramer.

Bad idea, Israel. Don’t do it.
It took me by surprise.
Apparently, this is coming from Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon.
Doesn't mater how many "interim Solutions" Israel proposes, the ROP will reject them all. The only solution they will accept is the complete elimination of Israel, and G-D will not allow this to happen (as promised in HIS world).
Israel should make a proposal to the UN
You make them a State, we go to war now, Might as well get it over with before they have to fight Egypt, Iran, Libya, and Syria, along with the Palestinians.
I read this article, and I don’t get it. What is Israel proposing that is different from what the Palestinians are proposing?
Unfortunately Israel has to take some tiny bit of the blame. They signed Oslo and that set in course that someday there would be a Palestinian state.
Obama is to blame for the way this is all coming together, imho, because he set out new and unprecedented anti-Israel conditions about settlements, the size of the Palestinian state and other things that were always supposed to be settled by negotiations. Obama breached Oslo. That kind of attitude (breaching signed accord with Israel, courting Iran, calling for Mubarak’s ouster etc) is why no foreign leader respects him, and why nobody friend or foe trusts him, and why our allies are angling for economic advantage and our enemies are working overtime to advance their nefarious plans before he leaves office and someone with brains and balls becomes the leader of the free world.
“Any agreement that doesn’t end with the destruction of Israel will be refused by the Palis. (and Obama).(was that redundant?)”
Thus, they’ve refused every agreement so far. Maybe that’s why it is being proposed, but Israel has always said any agreement must begin with a recognition of Israel’s right to exist.
That’s been the sticking point.
Insane, isn’t it.
Meant to ping you.
I am in a wait and see mode on this. Things are moving very fast.
No matter. It has been foretold. They will have a treaty. It will be a 7 year treaty. It will be broken. The final battle with happen. The entire earth will be destroyed. And then the King of Kings returns.
This is gonna get out of hand..and we will be lucky to live through it.
Pray that regional does not go global....it really could you know.

Couple decades later.
Ayalon off the reservation? He did yesterday.
From Caroline Glick:
Speaking Sunday at the UN’s conference of donors to the Palestinian Authority, Deputy Foreign Minister Daniel Ayalon warned that while Israel supports economic assistance to the PA now, that is liable to change within the week.
As he put it, “Future assistance and cooperation could be severely and irreparably compromised if the Palestinian leadership continues on its path of essentially acting in contravention of all signed agreements which also regulate existing economic relations between Israel and the Palestinian Authority.”
Ayalon’s position is eminently reasonable. Unfortunately, it contradicts utterly the official position of the Government of Israel.
The government’s position was transmitted on Friday to the same donor conference that Ayalon was participating in. According to the government document, “Israel calls for ongoing international support for the PA budget and development projects that will contribute to the growth of a vibrant private sector, which will provide the PA an expanded base for generating internal revenue.”
Israel’s move was reportedly championed by the Defense Ministry and the IDF senior brass, which reportedly adamantly opposes cutting off any aid to the PA, including aid to the US-trained and financed Palestinian army in Judea and Samaria.

Thanks thouworm.
The Oslo “agreement” is now officially dead.
Great idea. Give them Gaza as a homeland, then cut the water, power and medical assistance. Let them stand on their own.
Drudge just picked up this article, using this as the headline:
Israel Floats ‘Interim Solution’ To Palestinian Statehood Debate...
Israel should tell them ALL to go to freaking hell and annex the West Bank and Gaza, send amalek packing back from whence they came, most of them illegally, and be done with it.
The “Oslo agreement” was pure out and out treason for which peres and those who drafted it should have been hung.
