Sad news for Chicago area Savge fans.

From KeyLargo:

Savage dumped from Chicago radio.

Replaced by social liberal.

WIND clears Cochran for takeoff Oct. 3
Posted in Chicago Media blog by Robert Feder on Sep 6, 2011 at 12:00am

Oct. 3 has been set as the start date for Cochran’s new show, which will air from 5 to 7pm Monday through Friday, replacing the syndicated Michael Savage.

Mark Masters, president and CEO of Talk Radio Network, which distributes Savage’s show, declined to comment when asked whether Savage will turn up elsewhere in the market after he leaves WIND at the end of the month.

“Location, location, location” doesn’t matter as much nowadays thanks to online streaming. Dedicated Chicago Savage listeners have many choices from desktop to mobile apps; hopefully they’re tech-savvy.

I do like Chicago pizza. And blues.

Savage is right. I was thinking the same thing.. when was the last time someone took the 5th before a Congressional subcommittee..

I do remember watching this

The McClellan [1950s Senate] Committee became another national obsession, with Bobby Kennedy the star during televised hearings in which Kennedy grilled leading Mafia figures of the day, most of whom repeatedly invoked their Fifth Amendment rights against self-incrimination. Bobby Kennedy taunted his adversaries relentlessly; during one such grilling of Chicago Mob Boss Sam Giancana, the wiseguy erupted into a nervous giggle, prompting Bobby Kennedy to taunt: "I thought only little girls giggled, Mr. Giancana!"

He’s repeatedly said “I do this 3 hours a day live, 5 days a week.”

If only it were true. I wish his 3rd hour was indeed live.

Legal racketeering is a yet largely unrecognized crime in my opinion. Sure state bar associations supposedly police their own, but we all know that’s a joke. A panel of foxes presiding over the one with feathers around his mouth.

The legal racketeers are allied with the union racketeers.

re: "any book chat today?"

45 mins into the show it started. I had some things to concentrate on so I used that as an excuse the turn off the radio. Excluding an earlier caller recounting his book store experience it started 45 mins into the show.

I knew it was coming.. there was the customary signal that Savage is about to go where he is going (his book, his meatballs, his dog, his luxury cars, his boats) whether you like it or not; to wit, he asks "What do you want me to talk about . . . ."

It was a great show until. . . .

Union racketeers are often prosecuted, and successfully. Legal racketeers never are. They may be prosecuted for particular instances of unethical or illegal behavior, but the pattern of legal abuse, as exemplified by organisations like the ACLU or SPLC is never ever brought up. It's the proverbial 800lb gorilla in the room everyone ignores like it isn't there.

Had a laugh just now...bear with me...former Afhan President was “martyred” by a turban bomb detonated on his chest during a “hug-fest” before they brought in the dancing boys....

I laughed when caller Frank from Astoria, NY requested the previous book instead of Savage’s latest. (This Italian caller said he was buddies with Tony Bennett as a teenager.)

Savage asked if he would read _Abuse of Power_ if he sent it. Frank asked, “Can I have the one that came before?” It caught Savage by surprise, saying he didn’t expect that answer.
