The beginnings? Historian Rick Perlstein says union protests in Wisconsin show the birth of a movement
It was a long, hot spring and summer on the streets of Greece, England and Madrid, as protesters and rioters vented their fury at high unemployment, painful austerity measures and following a fatal police shooting in London.
The US, meanwhile, has been virtually free of rioting and even of widespread peaceful political protest.
This is despite some of the highest unemployment in decades, growing income inequality, dissatisfaction with the nation's direction, frustration with its dysfunctional government and the threat of drastic cuts to social programmes.
On Friday, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg raised the spectre of social unrest amid high unemployment among young Americans.

Not on my street. I’m at the end, up a hill in a cul-de-sac. My 12 power scope attached to my .308 Savage should keep those animals at bay.
Yes, but as always as Americans, when we do something, we do it big...people forget that Rodney King left 55 corpses in his wake.
Nice Try Europe.
You guys are weenies, we eat our Wheaties.
Ain’t gonna be no mass civil unrest here.
Mark my words...on the night of November 7, 2012, US cities will burn.
And then thar’s dat....
The European intelligentsia like to pretend that their countrymen were so traumatized by the events of the 20th century that they have renounced violence forever like the civilized people they really are, and presumably we are not. I have to chuckle a little. Where do they think we learned it?
Here in Florida, we just get a permit to carry. We don't disclose what weapons we have, or that we have any at all. Being former military I didn't even have to take the CCW course.
Word to the wise: Despite the carry laws being overbearing, you would be very ill advised to carry without a permit if in fact one is required where you live. If you ever get caught with it or, God forbid, you must use your weapon in self defense, you could wind up spending a long time in jail away from your loved ones.
Get the permit if you're going to carry. You can worry later about what to do in the highly unlikely scenario where door-to-door gun confiscation becomes reality.
Well, with the Europeans, you’re dealing with nitwits who call putting underwear on the heads of terrorist prisoners at Abu Ghraib a war crime, but then they’ll gleefully beat the living hell out of somebody from the other side of town over a soccer game.
The only group in this country capable of random mob violence is the tea party. /s
My better half carries the Kel-tec .380 and loves it. I try to stay on her good side.
Bah, we’ll rebuild them to look better and be structurally stronger than ever. As for civil unrest, thankfully we have more than enough guns to deal with the rioters. I don’t think though, that in fact there will be much of it since Americans have fundamentally changed after 9-11.
Went to class this past Saturday in NC. I’m 50-90d and $110 away from mine.
If the gov comes to disarm, you can always take one with you. Make the price high.

I lost mine in a tragic hangliding accident as I was thermal soaring over a volcano... I cried for weeks.
I’m getting mine soon. I just have to make the appointment. They already have all the info on who owns guns anyway.
yuppers.
Imagine chickens (and a pig or two) in every one of those back yards...
“In America the only places that assurance holds is within cities already committed to the support of the welfare class; elsewhere, they’re likely to be shot and will not receive the customary European media lionization and orgy of recrimination against the middle class. Not here. No sympathy.”
Your statement really hit the bullseye.
Back in May, a gang of Holder’s peeples did their flash mob thing in Columbia, South Carolina and beat up a white kid. The thugs were arrested under the state’s anti-lynching law, and each thug faces up to 20 years in prison. Had the victim died, the savages would be looking at the death penalty.
Every place is not Chicago or Philadelphia. They were lucky they weren’t shot. The South Carolina Supreme Court recently “liberalized” the state’s castle doctrine and expanded the list of acceptable targets. You don’t want to flash mob in South Carolina.
Sure. Easy. Nasty. Violent. Bloody. Burn.
It will happen when this guy's EBT card runs dry. He can't/won't function without it and he figures you owe him and he plans to take it.

Aweful story. I hope your feet didn’t get burned as the guns fell into the lava. The weight loss probably lifted you up just in time.
