Ed Rollins is at it again.
Mr. Rollins, the former campaign manager for Representative Michele Bachmann of Minnesota, has questioned her ability to extend her campaign for the Republican presidential nomination beyond Iowa, the first state in the nation to hold a nominating contest.
In an interview on MSNBC, Mr. Rollins told Andrea Mitchell that Mrs. Bachmann does not have the money or resources to compete with her better-financed rivals, like Mitt Romney and Rick Perry.
Right now, shes competing hard in Iowa, Mr. Rollins said. But, he added, she doesnt have the ability or resources to go beyond that, Iowa, at this point in time, where Perry and Romney can go into South Carolina, Arizona and other places.
The criticism of Mrs. Bachmann is hardly the first for Mr. Rollins since he abruptly departed her campaign earlier this month, citing his own health issues. Last week, Mr. Rollins criticized Mrs. Bachmann for repeating a womans claim that her daughter had become retarded after receiving a vaccine for the human papillomavirus.
Aides to Mrs. Bachmanns campaign have said there was no ill will when Mr. Rollins left. And they say he remains an important strategic adviser for the presidential campaign.
But in citing Mrs. Bachmanns resource problem, Mr. Rollins was acting more like a television analyst than a campaign spinmeister. By doing so, he put his finger on what may be Mrs. Bachmanns biggest roadblock to actually winning the Republican nomination and the White House.

The reason Bachmann is tanking is because of things she's been saying, not her campaign strategy. Her vaccination comment was after Rollins. Rollins never had the power to make her say something she didn't want to say, nor keep her from saying things she shouldn't. (The $2.00 a gallon gas did it for me.)
If Rollins was the problem, then her campaign should start improving shortly. Anyone believe that will happen? I don't. There's a reason she has a history of unusually high staff turnover. And it happened before Rollins ever showed up.
You know thr worse thing about it?
Those idiots at Time can now feel vindicated for their vicious portrail of her on their cover. I hate it when evil liberals catch a break like this,
I think you are right. After the last gaffe I started wondering if she will be able to hold on to her Congressional seat.
Lastly, Rollins is Rollins as you said.
What does it say about MB that she saw fit to hire him in the first place?
Is that the type of decision making she’d bring to the presidency?
If so, who needs her?
Its just one gaff after another. Not only that, but it is also one gaffe after another.
Thanks. I don’t see so well in my old age and I never could spell well.
She entered the race to stop Palin. She hired rollins to fatally wound Palin. He tried. He failed. She loses. When you start out dirty, rolling in the mud don’t get you clean.
She is promoted my BOR, Rove, Dick Morris, Fund, Kristol and rest of all establishment. Even they can’t save her from downhill. She will close her shop by end of this month.
Hiring Ed Rollins was a huge mistake, which should have been obvious enough to begin with. Rollins was NOT a handler that any real conservative would touch with a ten-foot pole.
It’s one thing to have this kind of guy imposed on you, as Sarah did by McCain. It’s quite another to go out and actually choose him. Some of us thought it was a terrible mistake at the time, and I think we were right.
Like Rove, they feel they are more important than the candidate, the power behind the throne. Like Rove, Rollins is nothing but a political hack.
No worries. Just poking a little fun.
I think after the new polls out today where she’s backsliding, she’s dropped the Gardasil bit. I couldn’t find any new comments in the news since they posted. I was going to be upset if she got away with that vitriol she pulled at the debate. So glad to see she’s paying for it in support.
Hmmmm ..?? As soon as she hired Rollins, he went out and started bashing Palin. She made Rollins apologize (privately) to Palin (and after all Palin had done to support her run for congress) - ungrateful.
He’s a back-stabber - can’t stand the guy.
That is one of the most deranged posts I have ever seen on FR. Better keep up with the meds.
Somewhere in a musty smelling and darkened closet, pissant is screaming his head off.
Now that’s funny.
Did he get banned? A Bachmann fan?
That’s a good one. I’ll have to (try) remember that.
