The alternative is Romney and this is one issue out of a thousand that Mitt is better on.
Counting on Romney to stay strong on any issue is a fallacy. Willard places expediency above principle. Always has and always will. Romney supported the McCain-Kennedy-Bush comprehensive immigration reform bill before he was against it.
That is my take too.
I know there are some on here for which immigration is a deal breaker. I can respect that.
For me though, I would rather have a guy who I agree with on 98% of the issues (and then try to hold his feet to the fire on immigration), than a guy who I agree with on about 20% of the issues.
If Perry is knocked out, then I think it almost guarantees a Romney nomination. That frightens me to no end.

The trouble is (at least for me), it's an extremely important issue. It will decide the future of our country.
