A new hotline being unveiled Monday aims to help illegal immigrants clear up confusion about deportation.
Modeled after those for the homeless or victims of domestic violence, the "first-in-nation" crisis hotline will serve callers 24 hours a day. It launches Monday afternoon at Jane Addams Hull House.
Volunteers will take calls and direct people facing deportation to lawyers and social service agencies by asking them a checklist of questions to help determine the right course of action.
"In the last five years, 48,330 people have been deported from the Chicago ICE region, leaving an estimated 80,550 children without a parent," the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights said in a statement.

Perhaps we should give it the AttackWatch treatment??
I understand he will only be answering questions about vaccinations their kids will need for school...
The comments about this under the article at a Chicago news site are more conservative towards illegas than I’ve seen hear on FR lately on a certain candidate’s cheerleading threads.
Wow, my grammar, syntax and spelling are atrocious these days.
¡Llame ya!

Perhaps the parent(s) should not have come here anyway, illegally. Then when they get deported, maybe they should take their children with them. Why break up a family, send them all back!!
Have ‘em call me. I’ll tell them what I think of them.
How many languages do you think these volunteers will need to master?
One way to stop, or at least slow down, this madness is English only, with the exception International Airports. All Government Agencies - with the exception of Immigration should be conducting day to day business in English.
IMNSHO, it is absolutely criminal for a municipality to have to print ballots in 10 or 12 different languages.
If a private business wants to cater to certain languages etc, no problem; but when the State Motor Vehicle Department has to administer drivers tests in the language of your choice THEN provide an interpreter to take the test ‘with’ the applicant we have a major problem.
And PLEASE do not tell me or point out that they would drive anyway, the only thing being accomplished here is the state gets to collect some fees (which in itself isn’t all that bad but....). If you can’t read or comprehend the test in English, how do you expect to navigate the highways etc?
I hope they get lots of calls. :)

Gee, I thought Elian Gonzalez set the precedent that children should stay with their parents, even if that means returning them to a nation controlled by an evil dictator?
There you go making sense.
