Apples and oranges. LBJ didn’t run against his primary challenger. But if Soros tells Obama to not run, he could pull an LBJ at any time next year and make room for another Dem.

Well, Eugene McCarthy ran against him in New Hampshire.

But the issue I was addressing was the calendar. How late could Obama dither before bowing out?

In which case, March has been proven sufficient.
