Perhaps folks from Florida can clarify this, but as I understand it, the Seminole tribes in Florida have been a key in fighting the political correct libs who want Florida State to drop Seminoles as their mascot.

They know that Florida State football is the main reason anyone ever utters the word “Seminole” anymore, and that the use of that name is meant to honor the bravery and fighting spirit of Seminole warriors. So they do like it.

Again, Florida folks may debunk this, but that has been my understanding....

The Seminoles should also be remembered for giving America the expression “Yeehaw.” It was the Seminole/Creek word for “wolf” or “wolves” and was a rallying cry for their fighting braves.

The Seminole tribe is onboard with the mascot and name. Its not disrespectful. Money may play a part also.
