In recent Gallup polling, his approval rating among Latinos dipped to 48 percent — the lowest mark of his presidency and a significant drop-off from the 60 percent approval among the group he carried as recently as January. Obama’s approval rating among Hispanics is now just seven points higher than it is among the general public in Gallup data, a major decline from earlier in his term.
And polling conducted by Resurgent Republic, a conservative-aligned group, shows Obama under-performing his 2008 totals in key swing states with large Hispanic populations.
In Florida, where Obama won 57 percent of the Latino vote in 2008, 48 percent of Hispanics say he deserves a second term. Ditto in New Mexico, where Obama carried Latinos with 69 percent but now sees just 58 percent of that voting bloc willing to say he should be reelected. (Worth noting: In Colorado, Obama’s numbers have held steady among Hispanics.)
Those numbers pose two important questions relating to the president’s 2012 prospects: What explains the drop-off among Hispanics? And is it possible that Latinos could be up for grabs in 2012?

Self-respecting Latinos should be insulted and non-Latinos (like myself) should be ready to ditch whichever party is bending over and/or promising the "riches stolen from non-Latino taxpayers and 'millionaires."
Pubbies have all but hidden their collective heads in the sand to avoid the subject of illegal immigration, fearing that dreaded "Latino backlash," until we now have unemployment over 10% in most states.
A quick check with the Census to count the "Latino growth (companies that have encouraged illegals to work in their plants)" in areas around the country and one will quickly see which areas are the highest in unemployment, government benefits, emergency room swamped, drunk driving off the charts, and one will find a "Latino problem -" not the legal Latinos but the illegal Latino problems.
CA already has it’s own version of the Dream Act without any assist from the Won’.

It might be up for grabs or not, but certain politicians in both parties always seem to consider it for sale to the highest bidder. And some stupid Republicans always want to bid in an auction they’ll never win.
No problem for Zero, he should give an executive order for total amnesty before the election.

Latino’s that came in the right way and have become US citizens don’t always vote democrat.
So, we are talking, can republicans grab the illegal vote by pandering to them?

Could Republicans lose the conservative vote if they pander to illegals? Probably not, conservative are good at turning the other cheek.
Or, are republicans stupid enough to pretend their candidate isn’t pandering only to get backstabbed later and then cry foul?
No, they scam the system for money. They will vote rat 2 to 1 at least.

The Mexican American citizens see the problem for what it is. None whom I know personally approve of the redistribution of taxpayer money to illegal aliens who receive all the benefits of citizenship and none of the responsibility. As for paying taxes, even if they were citizens wouldn’t they surely be among the 40% who pay no taxes. On the other hand the illegals are reportedly returning to Mexico in large numbers (wish I could find that column) as the jobs begin to thin out in the USA. As for mass deportations that some envision, neither party will ever be seen doing the “trains thing”. With just a measure of finess on the part of business and hiring the problem solves itself. How hard is that? whadaya think?
America is a country now that if you are an American citizen, you get the least consideration.
All you are is a pocketbook for invaders from other countries.
I would love to see someone stand up and put United States citizens first. And...be proud to say it.
Cut any and all benefits, except in extreme emergencies for hospital care

Deny education
Punish employers
Many would self deport.
Deport every damn criminal and send the bill for those in prison to Mexico.
If they want some type of guest worker system, the employer must pay for any and all illness and health problems while working here. The employer must also verify that guest worker hasn’t overstayed his welcome.
Time for responsibility.
