Solyndra provides another 535 million reasons to distrust Big Government and its enablers. I don't NEED any more reasons!

Although it’s easy to hate hedge funds and their ilk, at least they (sometimes) have their own skin in the game. Although I detest social engineering by way of the tax code, note that if the government wanted to support green energy, they would be more prudent to give tax credits for profits made investing in green energy firms, than in giving federal money directly to said firms. Those investing in green energy would conduct due diligence and support those businesses that could actually succeed, while turning away from companies like Solyndra which were sure losers.
As an aside, zer0 could gain a notch in the public’s standing (not that he cares) if he proposed a surtax on “Assets held less than one second” (or even “assets held less than one millisecond”) so as to tax the High Frequency Traders, rather than the millionaires he’s presently going after. But of course the big HFTs like Goldman wouldn’t like to see that, so it surely won’t happen.

I think it’s too little to ask.
I want Obama to personally repay the treasury 535 million.

When will everyone wake up and realize this was a payoff to California to keep it voting Democratic, not just a payoff to a supporter? As a former commercial lender, I can tell you there was no way to approve a loan of this magnitude to an unproven startup company. Due diligence was obviously waived to meet political ends and heads should roll.

Half a billion dollars of taxpayer money is gone, and no one involved shows a modicum of concern for those who paid the bill. Apparently an apology is just too much.
This was set up as a fraud from the beginning. The principals in this matter accomplished what they wanted, theyve all salted away huge profits on their rent-seeking investment. An apology admits guilt, which is why lawyers tell you to shut up at accident scenes.

An apology is far too little to ask. Investigate and prosecute them for all of their wretched, traitorous dealings, from this company to the General's testimony, to the Communications company, to the Egyptian debacle, the Libya fiasco and on and on.
Route these corrupt, sick, marxist vipers out!
Double down on 2010 in 2012. That is what is needed and what ios going to happen.

Despite warnings from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), the beleaguered solar company was allowed to renegotiate its loan and put taxpayers in a subordinate position. ie. Everyone else gets their money back first. Taxpayers get screwed by this sleazy deal created by the obama administration.

Solyndra was just an Obama money laundrying scheme, and not a very efficient one at that. Half a billion in and $87,000 out.

Anyone else see the Chris Wallace led discusion on Sloyndra at the very end of the program? Sen. ( or is it ex-) Evan Bayh was on the panel and sounded like a squid/ weasel talking about how there are even more green loans out there that are going to make the investments look good, so that we "can compete with China." At least Bill Kristol stuffed him on that one, asking whether we really wanted to become a centrally-planned command economy with Chinese scale wages. But the whole discussion avoided the congressional investigations, the FBI raids or the crony capitalism mechanism, very disappointing .Gigot was the other conservative panelist; looks like they "just want to move on" without much fuss. Earlier, though I didn't see the whole thing, they were pumping Christie into the race. I'm sure poor Sarah Palin is agonizing putting herself and family what it would entail, but declaring might give the people the only weapon they're going to get to strike at the tentacles strangling the country.

If people want to know who the real Dr. Evil is behind this whole "green energy" scam, look no further than SAND HILL ROAD in the SF Bay area. Here you will find those VC guys who have an enoromous amount of money invested in these "Green Energy" Frauds. These people want the companies that they have invested in to go public so that they can get their money back through IPO. And these people are very powerful politically. They contribute to the Democratic Party in a very big way.
If Wind and Solar were really that great of sources of energy, the engineers at the power companies would have been advocating them a long time ago. These Engineers are some of the smartest people you would ever want to come across and they are the experts in energy production. So why wouldn't the press go to these people to get their information on what to do about energy. The press (MSM) never seem to go to these experts. Why should they (MSM) keep interviewing people who don't have any education or experience in energy production? That's the interesting part of it all.
