WASHINGTON -Doubling down on his economic agenda, President Barack Obama on Saturday kept up his appeal for public support of his $447 billion proposal to boost jobs and consumer spending, calling on Americans to press Congress to pass the legislation.
In his weekly radio and Internet address, Obama reiterated a message that has become a central focus of his presidency amid stubbornly high unemployment numbers and dipping approval over his handling of the economy.
The president announced his jobs legislation to a joint session of Congress last week and has since gone outside Washington to build a case for its passage.
"The No. 1 issue for the people I meet is how we can get back to a place where we're creating good, middle-class jobs that pay well and offer some security," he said.

I’ve been watching that. Pretty funny site.
That is a good question. But the current administration wants to continue using a failed policy that handicaps the private sector with regulation and higher taxes, adds to the debt, and expands government.
These are the very policies that led to current unemployment levels. Let's just raise taxes and continue to borrow and print money. Not so fast, Mr. President!
The Bill to Nowhere
He's frantically making speeches from the podium, but is not calling leaders to the WH for talks.
He'd rather do a 45 minute speech in front of the public than get dirty in an 8-hour nuts-and-bolts session in the back room.
Which bill? I had no idea a president had a say in writing legislation...in fact, if civics class serves me right, his duty is to execute laws passed in congress.
Can this “Constitutional scholar” please be clued in?
He ought to switch to Bill Clinton’s style. Spend eight hours doing a nuts-and-bolts session with opposition leaders, work out a compromise, and then do a 45 minute speech denouncing the compromise and trying to sound principled.
A) He's too lazy to spend several hours doing real work and
B) He hates being forced into a group setting where real discussion happens because it becomes clear to those in the room just how stupid he is.
I haven't laughed so hard in a long time. Liberals set up these twitter codes (#attackwatch for turning in people who say bad things about Obama, and #usdayofrage for coordinating the protest today on Wall Street) and conservatives have hijacked both of them quite humorously.
You can view the two, even if you aren't on Twitter, by going to:
You hope that you can get the MSM to tank for you like Clinton did in 1996 but I and a great many others no longer watch the alphabet idiots and the only use I have for the Slimes and Compost is to wrap dead fish in. Saying the same mantra may work in some religious scenarios but a constant refrain of "Pass this Bill" starts making us say "Piss on this Bill" in response. The fact that you sat on this bill for weeks over your summer vacation adds to our contempt at your harangue!
Racist. Racist. You are a racist. Nahnahnahnahnahnah.
But he can demagogue and call names like Truman.
Has Obama’s bill been scored does it have a number?
Fill in the blank someone HR___.
Yup, even the kids will be shocked if they pay attention.

Best Band EVER!
HR0801? Symbolic of face with big ears who is The One?
Why does he even bother with asking for passage. Just issue an executive order and it would be law lickity split.
Where did he get the number 1.9 million?
Bo and his wife are becoming a laughingstock in the USA. I think even the left are beginning to laugh at him.
