A loose coalition of left-leaning groups like Adbusters and Anonymous are beginning their "occupation" of Wall Street today at noon. Their goal is to "see 20,000 people flood into lower Manhattan, set up tents, kitchens, peaceful barricades, and occupy Wall Street for a few months." According to the protest's website, a "leaked bulletin from the New York Police Department reveals that they expect at least 5,000" to show up today, and ask participants to being "warm clothing" along with other provisions due to the recent cold snap. Mayor Bloomberg told his eponymous news organization, "People have a right to protest, and if they want to protest, well be happy to make sure they have locations to do it. As long as they do it where other peoples rights are respected, this is the place where people can speak their minds "
Once in place, the protesters claim they will "incessantly repeat our one simple demand until Barack Obama capitulates," but what exactly is that demand? We won't know until a week from now, when they "publicly deliver [their] manifesto to the White House and to the American media," but looking at their list of possibilities, they are anything but "simple." Then again, neither are the problems.
The occupation won't be entirely "peaceful," as Anonymous is promising to roll out a new, more powerful hacking tool to cripple websites. According to ITWorld, the group recently tested it by bringing down WikiLeaks and Twitter. If the protesters make it until Monday, they'll be able to greet President Obama as he swings into town to speak to the UN and schmooze with wealthy donors.
"If we have peaceful assemblies and debates about what our demands to President Obama should be, then bit by bit we can create a situation that will rival what happened in Egypt," the editor of Adbusters tells CNN. While the occupation begins at 12:00 p.m. at North Bowling Green, the protest will amass in earnest at 3:00 p.m. at Chase Plaza.

A Few Months””
Obviously, these butned out hippies & trust fund babies don’t have calendars in their possession.
Rain-Sleet-Snow- will not be very pleasant in tents in the coming months.
Can anyone come up with a live video feed address for this; wanna see how many are dressed up as the Grim Reeper.
You just know these creeps envy the true protests that are the Tea Party. They've never seen anything like the Tea Party...which is a true, grassroots movement.
Resist we much...
Do leftists *ever* know what they are protesting against?
Yep, this takes me back to 1970, when smelly people raised hell on the Ohio State campus making things difficult for people trying to get to classes and to work. They didn’t get out of bed until noon, however, so it was possible to get the buildings where the science classes were concentrated if you went there in the morning.
Put that energy into getting a job. Any job is better than protesting and being a nuisance.
Anonymous is the same group causing trouble in the BART system of Mass Transit in San Fran.
Stone Street (off Pearl Street) is having their Oysterfest today. I was thinking about going later for the music.
Anonymous is also the group that is hacking and crashing all of the websites including Sony and others.
YouTube “Anonymous “ they are a creepy bunch.
Really. This will last until the rains come in October. Hopefully though, not until pneumonia thins the herd a bit...
You think what we have now is free market capitalism??
Gov/corporate cronyism backroom deals with industry/and their handmaidens writing legislation? The ordinary regular people are getting the shaft, huge corps are getting bailouts and special deals, and politicians are getting their cuts.
Crony crapitalism slash crony socialism.
Oh, I just saw this headline, looks relevant,, I will read in a bit:

Been busting their ba**s all morning as I am home sick in bed. rational_jingo
I didn’t address any of that. I simply stated that anarchy is not an acceptable alternative. If that’s what you want, have it for yourself. As for myself and my family, I’m not for it. And if the anarchists win, the vacuum will be filled with far worse than crony capitalists.
Oh, found this if anyone wants to see images.

Just curious about something.
How do you go about having a “Day of Rage” with a bunch of pot heads?
Shouldn’t they call it a “Day of Mellow”?

Steve86's comment:
I am equally opposed to the Anonymous anarchy culture and the fascist-facilitating Wall Street culture. No favorites at all.
