White House Defends Daley Amid Calls for Staff Shakeup

The White House is standing firm behind President Obama's chief of staff, Bill Daley, after several unnamed aides reportedly lambasted Daley's management style and Democrats blamed him for the president's limited successes since Republicans took control of Congress.
Daley, a former businessman and commerce secretary in the Clinton administration, was brought in to replace Rahm Emanuel who became Chicago mayor this year. Daley, considered a shrewd but fair negotiator, was seen as a conduit to thaw icy relations between the White House and the business community and to make nice with the newly empowered House GOP.

Cause the world was all roses and cream when Rahm Emanuel was at the helm... Someone’s not too subtly trying to finger poor sap Daley, the guy who took the helm after the ship had already hit the iceberg.
Fox got that wrong.
Yeah! Its the new guy’s fault!!
Daley hasn’t been there long enough to even wet his pants over the “shellacking” that’s coming down the pike.
All the “smart” ones saw what was coming and pulled the plug. They’re off to their new careers.
Like me, he graduated St. Ignatius HS Chicago (he ‘66, me ‘69). But unlike me, he went on to get caught cheating on his Insurance Exam for State of Illinois.
Bye-bye Daley.
Been around long enough to know the minute a headline reads, mid-scandal, that the White House is "defending" a minion, he's gone.
