The problem isn't with the policy, the problem is with her facts - or lack thereof.
It's one thing to say "I don't think the HPV vaccine should be mandatory because the state does not have the right to mandate health care."
It's a completely different thing to say "I don't think the HPV vaccine should be mandatory because it will turn your kid retarded!"
One is a public policy based on conservatism. The other is public policy based on the rejection of science, critical thinking, and reason. Every ridiculous stereotype of conservatives as far-right religious anti-science nuts is embodied in Bachmann.
