We bought a '97 Crown Vic in '99 and it's still a family workhorse. One of my college kids is driving it now. When he was a new driver he had a fender bender with another car. Damages on that car were well over $1000, the Crown Vic didn't even sustain a scratch.

It's the perfect car for a young driver.

When he parts with it I'm thinking of taking it back and giving it a complete refurb (don't tell my wife!)

Should be a breeze to maintain given the availability of yard metal.
