If you can’t make a billion, it’s almost as good to beable to say that you lost a billion.
Won’t do much for the resume though.

The last guy trader who lost this much money, a few years ago, got a three year prison sentence.
Three years! I think petty theft carries a heavier penalty.

Apparently he is not “too big to fail” or he would be available for bailout funding.

“It equates to about the same amount UBS is seeking to save by cutting 3,500 jobs worldwide.”
1.3 Billion lost?? Must be a newbee.. Heck, Us spent 38 Billion and gained just 3500 jobs.. Whats the wage in the UK anyway??
To: acapesket; denydenydeny
Agreed. Anyone stupid enough to trust money to a Ghanaian with ties to the U.N. deserves to take a loss. Shame is, all the folks who are going to lose their jobs because of this unscrupulous devil.

"illegal" trading I'd bet that had he made a billion, he'd be a UBS hero.

I’m sure the trader was completely unsupervised and was allowed to trade billions of company dollars without anyone looking at this as unusual. How is the guy going to succeed if he isn’t allowed to fail along the way. I’m sure he will be a much better trader for the experience.

Don’t you know that our Leftist federal government rewards those who screw up? This guy would be hired in a flash by the Obama administration!
