Green with envy: Michelle Obama stuns in exotic peacock dress at Hispanic gala (Barf)

While greeting a Latino audience to support her husband’s speech about opportunities for Hispanics, Michelle Obama decided an exotic gown was in order. As President Barack Obama spoke at the black-tie event, the First Lady looked stunning in the strapless raw-silk dress by U.S. designer Chris Benz. She appeared to be inspired by an Amazonian peacock as she sashayed into the Washington Convention Center with matching emerald hued earrings and classic black heels. And Mrs Obama seemed delighted with the President’s pledge to put more money in the pockets of Latino workers by the look of her ear-to-ear grin on...

I agree. I like the dress and this is one of the better looking outfits I have seen her wear. Most of the stuff she chooses is atrocious.

She seems to prefer the "metallic" look.

Peacock dress ehh....

"So saying, the Angel Peacock, Melek Taus as we call him, spread his wings and flew away over the inaccessible mountain-tops. That is why we Yezidi, the descendants of that compassionate shepherd, sing hymns to appease and glorify the Spirit of Evil to this very day. Our hymns are scorned by the rest of the world. Both Christians and Muslims alike hate and persecute us. They call us 'Muraddun'-- Infidels and Devil-Worshippers. Our priests, Qawasls, travel secretly and do not wear priestly robes.

They carry with them, hidden away from Muslim and Christian eyes, the effigy of a peacock.

When we pray, we do not turn towards Mecca like the Muslims but towards the Polar Star, the immovable source of light in darkness, the point of the axis round which the whole universe resolves."

...did she whirl like a devil-worhipping dervish in it?

Oh my! I used to raise peacocks, and I do believe they could be construed as evil. They certainly never did anything I told them to do. They are independent to foolishness. A lot like Obama. There purpose was to walk around my place and look pretty. Instead, they hid in the barn all day and only came out at dusk. Then, half the time they couldn’t find their way back to the barn at dark. Eventually, they all were killed by foxes, or each other.

Although pretty, peacocks have very small heads. I construe this to mean that they also have very small brains. They used to break their own eggs.
