Washington (CNN) - Todd Palin released a scathing statement late Wednesday about author Joe McGinniss, whose new book about former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has grabbed internet and tabloid headlines, as well as received harsh criticism from The New York Times.
In a statement distributed to members of the media, Palin's husband said the book "is full of disgusting lies, innuendo and smears."
"This is a man who has been relentlessly stalking my family to the point of moving in right next door to us to harass us and spy on us to satisfy his creepy obsession with my wife," Palin said. "His book is full of disgusting lies, innuendo, and smears. Even The New York Times called this book 'dated, petty,' and that it 'chases caustic, unsubstantiated gossip.'"
McGinniss' book, "The Rogue," is set for publication next week and is the latest work from the bestselling author who first rose to national prominence with "The Selling of the President 1968," which described the marketing of Richard Nixon during the 1968 campaign. He subsequently wrote a crime trilogy and two controversial books about the Kennedy family.

Those look like Vinca to me.
Nope and yesterday’s twitter traffic and Wyclef’s prop’s she got the NBA vote and the Reggea contingent...lol
Of course, there are some who are in the Infuriation Business (who's whole goal is to be as obnoxious as possible, such as Chris Matthews, Keith Olbermann, and Ed Schultz) who will still entertain this author and this book.
Hell yes, but I think Sarah Palin is one of those women that can take care of herself, untlike Barack Obama.
EVERYBODY should hate this book, it’s the definition of a smear job. Keep rummaging through Sarah Palin’s trash and then FOAD, Joe.
Yeah...hacks that they are...!
Believe or not, I even had the slight notion that NBC might decide to forego this truly, truly loathesome idiocy from McGinnis, as it’s just so blatantly over-the-top in both lies and sleaze. But, nope! Nothing is apparently too low for them.
Seriously, I now morally equate NBC News with those child-molesters they love to spotlight on their MSNBC show.
I’m pretty sure that while Sarah was doing all those things, I was leading the Buffalo Bills to their fifth consecutive Super Bowl with five touchdown passes to O.J. Simpson. Yeah, those were the days.
Have any of the current candidates come to Sarah Palin’s defense by blasting this book of lies and smears?
It does appear that the clinically insane are gravitating towards NBC.
NBC, standing now for Nuts, But Crazy.
Todd blasted them several places today, Todd came out like a true man in her defense. Did you not see that on other threads?
just crickets....lol
LOL
Sometimes it's better not to.
Why publicize such total bulls**t?
There is a story in politics, commonly attributed to Lyndon B. Johnson, about how LBJ wanted to circulate a rumor attacking his opponent in a Texas election. Johnson, it's said, wanted to spread the story that his opponent liked to have sex with barnyard animals. One of LBJ's aides said, "We can't prove he's a pig f----r." "I know that," replied Johnson. "I just want to hear him deny it."
Um, did the GOP come to Sarah’s defense during the election-time wardrobe flap? Did the GOP come to Sarah’s defense when she was deliberately being bankrupted and driven from office by Obama’s minions? Did the GOP come to Sarah’s defense when the media was accusing her of complicity in mass murder in Arizona?
Has the GOP ever lifted a damn finger to help her out in any way? Count this as one of the reasons my record of exclusively voting GOP my entire life is NO LONGER a guarantee. Cowardly, backstabbing bastards.
Oh! Got it
That’s disgusting and cowardly.
I truly hope she runs.
I came away from my Tampa experience liking the five candidates I met, but knowing that Newt was the only truly qualified, yet not electable candidate. By truly qualified, I mean, he has the idieas and solutions, whereas the others are just rehashing stuff we’ve already heard and some are outrightly *borrowing* from Sarah Palin.
Herman Cain is the exception with his 9-9-9 and I like his plan and him. He should denounce that book and I’m surprised he hasn’t.
Har!
At this point I’d just settle for confirmation that a couple of the other candidates didn’t contribute information to it...
AMEN!
My vote is no longer guaranteed either.
I hope she announces on Constitution Day, (This Saturday), and then snubs the Faux News Debate.
Thanks....
