I remember when my son was 3 or so and started trying to understand marriage. He was told that you married the girl that you loved more than anything. He was determined that he wanted to marry Momma. Young children say all sorts of things.
My youngest (3) and I have playful arguments when he calls his Mom ‘Honey’ after I call her that. Like, I’ll be leaving with him in the morning, and I’ll say, “Bye, Honey.” Then, he’ll say, “Bye, Honey.” I’ll say, “No, she’s my Honey, she’s your Mommy.” He’ll say, “She’s my Honey.” Back and forth, etc.
