Is there a different standard way of treating crimes of poisoning than calling them assaults?

Poisoning? You gotta be kidding. Thats the same mentality that calls one girl giving another girl a Midol “drug dealing”.
It was a silly prank and he should be in a little trouble. But assault is violence, this was attempted peace./
Besides,,if they ATE the brownie, shouldn’t it be Battery? After all, the “assault” was “completed”.

This seems more “naughty”, than evil.

I think that’s what’s really in question. As it does no real physical harm, is poisoning appropriate here? Typically, poisoning would be attempted murder.
