Question first: Might she have been trying to raise some money (or PR to raise more money) for a run by her tour and her movie, etc.? That is not a comment. That is a question, really. I don't know how that works. Can she use her tour money, FOX News contributor salary money, Undefeated movie money, etc. to use to get into the race?
Now a comment: Sarah Palin probably DOESN'T have a whole lot of money to work with right now as far as Presidential campaigns go. Plus it would look like she probably did not get a whole lot more funding from her movie. It sold out for a few showings in a few locations - where the local Republican Party or a local Tea Party purchased big block tickets for specific showings but also had almost empty showings in some other locations. The movie was quickly pulled from the theaters and added to pay-per-view and then was scheduled for a Walmart store release on October 4. That's pretty quick to move through that process. Add to this that her late entrance has not provided her the opportunity to get the same kind of campaign funds many others have for a national campaign.
I may have felt "teased" for a while, but I'm beginning to think it is not a matter of "stringing people along" but one of not having the funds needed to get into the game.
Some of her supporters may think she'll just dive in and immediately get all the donations she needs to do all she needs to do. I am not in that frame of thinking. I think it would be a very big struggle for her at this point, but I do have empathy for her situation if it is simply a lack of funds that has been keeping her out of the race.
Just some thoughts.
Well, lack of funds means lack of support. That’s what it all boils down to. She has no support past the Tea Party, and frankly, she really doesn’t have all the Tea Party behind her since her recent showings. She can, of course, use her own money, but it’s a drop in the bucket. She doesn’t have the support to launch a bid. And once she’s officially not running, her teams of supporters have to find a new candidate and will take their time and money to a real candidate.
