Precisely. Even if you're "born that way", you can choose to engage in the behavior or not.
Many mentally ill people are born that way.
Schizophrenics, for example, actually all have a brain structure in common—larger cavities in certain parts of the brain.
You can’t choose to be schizophrenic, you are. It simply is your nature. Some patients manifest earlier, others later.
HOWEVER
Schizophrenia is a DISORDER! You can choose to get treatment for it and you will always struggle with it but it is not NORMAL and it is not GOOD.
Homosexuality is best described not as a choice, but a mental disorder as it had been for a long time. Sure, you have the disorder, but you have the option for treatment. A schizophrenic who is a danger to themselves or others is locked away—if they are dangerous and refuse treatment then they deal with the consequences. In fact, some schizophrenics receive forced treatments (court order).
where is the schizophrenic pride??? :)
The disorder of homosexuality may not always be a choice; the choice is whether you treat it or not.
What do you think—is this a plausible way of looking at it?
