What gets me about the Gardicil controversy is that all Perry did was enter an executive order to include HPV vacination in the list of (mostly) required vaccinations and include an opt out clause. Ever since the beginning of the twentieth century the states have required various vaccinations for children, including smallpox, diptheria, tetanus, etc. Just because HPV is a STD doesn't mean the at risk population shouldn't be vaccinated as it is for other dangerous diseases. When Perry saw this and took action, he was just doing his job.

I live in Texas and now meningitis vaccines are required before you gO to college. Mandated vaccines are there so insurance will cover them.
