How to silence the media (email to the editor)

(scroll down, toward the bottom)

One way to put a stop to the left-stream news media's blatant and obvious bias is to file lawsuits changing their status from "the press" to a political contribution group of some sort or another. Federal law currently specifies many of their actions be severely curtailed during the 60 days prior to the November elections, forcing them to shut down.

Personally, Larry is crazy for wanting to shut down the media for 60 days prior to an election. !!!Yes, I know, that's what they demand of every one of their competitors, corporate america for example!!! That doesn't mean two wrongs make a right.

But the first point that he makes is one I've made myself. The media really aren't a press in a sense that anybody can truely connect with.(Even those media outlets who do actually produce newspapers. They aren't press either)

They're advertisement outlets. Political campaign arms. Here's what I mean:

http://newsbusters.org/blogs/tom-blumer/2011/09/14/discredited-nyt-issa-story-used-basis-left-groups-ethics-complaint

This NY SLimes "news article" is not a news article at all. It's a political hack story. It's an advertisement.

What the NY Slimes does, is absolutely no different than what Moveon.org does - especially during election cycles.

When the media "reports" on job numbers, and continuously calls it 'unexpected', what is that worth as a political advertisement in favor of Obama?

The above Slimes article against Darrell Issa, what is that worth as a political advertisement?

When you see a poll that has 20 something percent republicans and 40 something percent democrats(an overweighted poll) this is really a political advertisement in favor of, whatever the poll is pimping. What is this poll worth as a political advertisement?

I don’t know that he really wants to shut the media down, just change their behavior but I am generally against this.

That said, there are a recent article that found that the media was worth around 10 percent in the vote for Dems so shutting them down would be good for Republicans.

(disclaimer: I am a conservative, not a Republican).

One huge problem with a suggestion of this nature is that it would never be upheld against leftist media. It would, however, be used to silence Fox and what little right-leaning media there is.

We can’t do anything about the leftist media except to turn them off.....don’t watch the MSM......cancel subscriptions to leftist newspapers. Fact is they are doing a pretty good job of neutralizing themselves!!!
