Great point! That’s the sort of slime-ball political phraseology that implies that all citizens who want our borders enforced are racist. And you’re right to point out that it’s the sort of slander that Gramnesty and others of his ilk have tried to exploit.

Okay. In your opinion. Not mine. It was unfortunate that Perry chose the EO route and didn't go through the state legislature. He said that was a mistake and I take him at his word. I don't see crony capitalism, however, and the opt-out clause is just that.
As for Bachmann. I lost a great of respect for her last night. Didn't appreciate her canned answers and political stunts. She continued her attacks today with more speculation. Very unpresidential.
Insurance pays? The only way insurance pays is by increasing their premiums on all their customers. The US tax payer was already covering the cost of the vaccine for the 'poor' wild girls.

But it’s a sad day for conservatives when a Wolf Blitzer shows that he’s in fact just another open-borders amnestyite trying to spin his way out of a public record position that can’t be denied.
The only fair thing to do Nationally, is keep illegals out and you don’t do that by giving them freebes and making nice about invasion. You close the borders and ship them out when you find them and punish employer abettors.
However, no Texan can be governor without pandering to Mexicans. That’s a fact.

But that’s precisely the difference between LEADERSHIP and being a political panderer. If Perry promotes that policy in his state he’ll pander as president too. It’s a matter of personal character and proclaiming a clear message about what’s right and what’s wrong. Unless Perry actually believes the bull he’s been spreading. He’s either a hypocritical panderer or he’s dead wrong on the issue. Either way, we don’t need that in a president.
Romney will be far worse.
Perry claims to know the difference between State power and responsibilities and Federal power and responsibilities under the constitution. So as governor he could do what he did legally - under the constitution. The people of the State dealt with his bad decision on the vacine as is their responsibility under the constitution.
But as President, he could not act as if he is running Texas from on High. He would have to cede to the States decisions that are not in the Federal purview and he would have to enforce immigration law which is one of the few duties of the Fededal government.
So it would behoove him to educate the public about the lost tenth Amendment and how he sees his role as President versus how he sees his role and power as Gov. of Texas.
People are booing his actions as Gov. as if he is going to do those things as President. Maybe he is planning to do that. That is what we need to find out from the candidates.
You make a good point and I’m not disputing the legality of the legislation he sponsored but the fact that such things as the DREAM Act are completely antithetical to conservatism. It’s not the legality but his wisdom that I question. By the way, I love the Tenth Amendment but federal courts have superior jurisdiction over any state law. With respect to the vacine, this definitely gives the appearance of arbitrary rule by fiat. Not only was it mishandled by ignoring the legislature but his chief of staff was a Merck lobbyist. We all know that in politics appearance is often more important than the action itself. I can’t read Perry’s mind but I think that he’s already got too much baggage to be seriously considered as a presidential contender.
I question the wisdom of the Dream Act, too. On one hand, Texas has been invaded big time. The political elite have made clear they will never close the border nor will they export the criminals. So we have all these illegals who are living here since they were small and we are stuck with the problem of assigning them to a permanent under class status or encouraging education and upward mobility.
At the Federal level, this betrayal has to stop. Dealing the States massive populations of illegals, is a crime against the constitution. The Federal government is charged with protecting our borders from invasion.
Her attack on the Gardasil issue just shows that she doesn't know how to win a nomination.
And anybody who would work as a lawyer for the IRS is suspect.
Romney is like a vampire that keeps coming back, but his upcoming humiliating defeats in primary after primary ought to exorcise this coward fake con man from a family of fake coward con men from the GOP once and for all.

Agreed. Cain and Newt did not join the attackdogs, however. It was obvious the others displayed desperation on some level. Perry has thrown a scare into the entire GOP establishment. You can see it with the moderate GOP wing, with the Bushies and the McCain clan too.
