After scoring points against Texas Gov. Rick Perry in last night’s Republican debate on the issue of Gardasil vaccinations, Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann made a statement on the Fox News Channel that she was informed Gardasil caused one child’s mental retardation.
On his Tuesday radio show, Rush Limbaugh thought attacking Perry on that issue was ill-advised but admitted Perry had “goofed up” with that executive order.
“Alright, Perry goofed up by using an executive order on the Gardasil,” Limbaugh said. “There’s no question he goofed up on it instead of taking it to the Texas legislature. He’s admitted that over and over again. I think one of the reasons that Perry gets tired is that he had all the questions. He had to answer a question three or four times last night and he did it smiling.”

Why has Bachmann sold out to Romney? Why didn't she attack Romney?
These campaigns bring out the worst in folks.
Bachmann has some great conservative ideas...but she’s a loose canon...too often. She’s also playing hard ball politics within her party and I am not keen on the way she’s doing it. Much worse is that pissant Romney. Fact of the matter is, Perry is more electable than either of these two.

I suppose if Perry wanted to be nasty and petty, he could mention something about Botox to Bachmann....

Perry mandated Gardasil, but Romney mandated that every one purchase healthcare insurance, which is far worse, and I didn’t hear Bachman blast away at Romney.
And that has been one of her core campaign issues.

Exactly, debate after debate before Perry entered they just let Romney slide, but suddenly once Perry join the race, it’s bash Perry time all the time.
Now I said that [Michele] Bachmann may have jumped the shark. It’s just a gut a feeling.
Rush is being a little too generous. Bachmann shot herself in both feet...once at the debate & again in the Greta interview post debate. She's done.
And aren't all kids "required" to have immunizations for measles and chicken-pox before they start grade school?
It was a stupendous gaff. Some strange woman she doesn’t know from Eve comes up to her and tells her this story and she runs with it? Unbelievable.
I’ll take Perry/Palin, you can have Romney/Bachmann. :)
I think Rush was cheerleading for Bachmann earlier on but today he was right on the money re jumping the shark. All I keep hearing today was her stupid remark that this vaccine caused mental illness and her accusation that Perry was on the take.
Way to go Bachmann-you are really relevant now.

LOL. Maybe he should take off the gloves in the next debate. He's been nothing but civil and respectful. So have Cain and Newt. The others are all coming across as desperate.
Second, the opt out was ridiculously complicated and would have needed to be renewed every two years.
