“Does he have a habit of that?”
I think that will come out over the course of the campaign. That’s part of the reason for campaigns; to vet the candidates. If the other candidates do their job, and the press actually reports it, then we’ll get a pretty good picture of what and who Gov. Perry is. Warts and all.
I’m not a Texan so I don’t follow their politics closely. I do know that from a gun rights perspective, Texas is odd. For a state that is as “conservative” as it supposedly is, they have some pretty arcane gun laws that would be more typical in a state like say, Maryland. Gov. Perry is clearly not all that concerned about gun rights or over a space of 10 years some of that would have changed. And then there is the trans-Texas corridor.
So far the picture that is emerging is that of a sunshine conservative.
He might well end up being a sunshine conservative. I have my reservations with him — but I am tiring of the gardicil issue and I really find it reprehensible that someone in favor of ethanol (Bachmann) is calling anyone out on crony capitalism. Ironic, aint it?
