Palin even went as far as to lend her voice to the charge leveled by Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) during the debate against Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R): That he allowed a law to go though requiring HPV vaccinations for adolescent girls because of a $5,000 campaign donation and his relationship with his former chief of staff, who went on to lobby for a pharmaceutical company.
"I knew there was something to it," Palin said of learning while she was Alaska's governor that her Texas counterpart had given the go-ahead to the vaccine. "Now we're finding that now, yea, something was up with that issue. It was an illustration or bit of evidence of some crony capitalism."

The idea she's gearing up for some big announcement & campaign is laughable.
Se wants to sell books, be on TV & make big $$$ for speeches & appearances. And she learned awhile ago she can do all that without the difficult job of being president.
I never realized that Rick Perry should be above reproach for the questionable directions he has taken at times.
Last I checked, the incestuous relationship between government and corporatism is a driving factor in the rot in DC. Rick Perry wants to go there. I don't want him joining in the rot, I want him cleaning it up.
And I am inclined to be willing to support him as the GOP nominee, but he does need to address these issues instead of pretending they don't exist, or, as with the border fence, parroting La Raza nonsense about 35 foot ladders for a 30 foot fence.
He best do some explaining and disputing fairly rapidly.

I agree that governing 25 million people for ten years is a totally different executive experience that governing 700 thousand for a few years. No doubt.
I disagree that Palin’s resignation was a “quit.” It was a calculated move that has proven in the best interests of Palin, Alaska, the Palin kids, etc. I am sorry, I refuse to slam a decision that history proves correct simply because it fits a cliche.
She quit as governor. When you quit your job out of the blue, you should not keep the title. It's disrespectful to those who stay and fight for what they believe in as an elected official.

Palin needs to either get in or get out then shut her mouth. The party needs to stay united to win the battle. Ronald Reagan felt strongly about this principle. Don’t act like your a Reagan believer then break his rules.
Why does she need to get or get out? Is this not America, where we have freedom and freedom of speech? Are there not millions of her supporters and millions more who might want incite from her? Oh, wait, you advocate that those who don't do as you wish to shut their mouth. Then you go on to state that the party needs to stay united? Hypocrite.
What really galls me is you, then, go on to bring Ronald Reagan into it. Reagan himself spoke out BEFORE announcing. He was a commentator on more than 600 radio stations. Guess what? Gov. Palin, like Gov. Reagan is a COMMENTATOR also. And, Reagan didn't announce until November 13th of '79. Remind us again, what month is this?
And, don't even lecture her (or anyone) about breaking Reagan's rules. Do you not even know his history as Governor? The scandal that his approving the abortion bill caused? Reagan broke his own rules, several times. Did you not watch or listen to the debates and stump speeches and editorials he penned? Anyone, put under a microscope, is flawed to some degree. It's not the mistakes or even appearance of mistakes that defines a true leader, it's the "footprints" that they leave behind. Reagan's have never been filled, but, I believe Gov. Palin might be able to grow into them, 'cause she certainly has the "feet" to do it with.
Gov. Palin was honest, temperate, principled and brave in her comments. Exactly the qualities I wish for in my POTUS. And, so that you know, unless and until she does announce a run, I'm in the Gov. Perry camp.
That all sounds great but that “countermanded” would have done exactly squat if the Governor had vetoed the bill.

Well, in Texas, you do get to choose. You can opt out of any vaccine that the Dept of Public Health is saying every child should have.
Apparently, that flexibility, which properly balances public health and parental rights, is not enough for you.
Would you be happy to know that abolishing those laws would probably lead to thousands of deaths? Would you be okay with that? Maybe you’d like to also go back to not requiring sewers and clean water too?

I am in favor of the current Texas policy, which is that parents have the right to opt out of the vaccination policies.
It’s a flat out lie to say people are being forced. They are not.
There is no need to put “greater good” in scare quotes. Vaccines save lives, including the lives of the people taking the vaccine. thanks to vaccines against polio, a dread disease no longer threatens children in America. Many other childhood killers have been diminished greatly due to vaccines.

Out of curiosity, how much time did Palin spend discussing Solyndra last night? She's dividing the GOP over a $5k donation to Rick Perry while the corruption in the White House runs rampant. At this point, if Palin enters the GOP race, I'll be shocked. It's easy to collect a $1 million salary from Fox News and take potshots at GOP candidates. If Palin had any political courage, she'd be on the stage answering questions instead of taking $1 million/year from Fox News and raising them.

Wishful thinking on your part. As Rush said yesterday, if she announces she's a candidate, there will be a tsunami. And she'll announce when she announces, not when the PDSers think she should.
If there was ever any doubt of this, last night's shameful attack on Rick Perry, in which Palin lied and misrepresented the Texas legislation, should confirm this reality to all but the most deluded Palinbots. I really can't believe that she is being paid by Fox News to coordinate and even originate attacks on announced GOP candidates.
