I agree with you Lazlo. There are many who post here who simple don't understand politics. And they are foolish enough to believe the rest of the country thinks like they do. They would much rather lose an election to make a point rather than back a candidate who doesn't share 100% of their views.

Nothing short of Palin is gonna satisfy this group. But they can't seem to understand that a large number of Americans think the woman shouldn't be president. And that large number is now probably a majority of voters. And I actually like Palin, but I don't believe she walks on water the way so many do on this site. Now every time I point out some of her deficiencies I'm slammed as a Troll, A Rommeybot, or worse. So these people are never gonna be satisfied. If Reagan ran today, this crowd would destroy him like Perry. He signed the Therapeutic Abortion Bill in '67 and raised taxes as Gov. As far as I am concerned, Romney needs to go and then Obummer. I don't see any flaws in any of the candidates running that are not crippling in beating Obummer other than Romneycare.

You're right. The stakes (the survival of our Republic) are too high to let the perfect be the enemy of the good. Republicans have become cannibalistic, which is just how the Democrats like it.

Yes, Mitt Romney looks like a President, but he's a two-faced RINO. Michele Bachmann is attractive and smart as a whip, but she sometimes says... some odd things. Rick Perry talks a good game, but he's more than a bit slippery. Newt Gingrich is a brilliant theoretician, but he has a matched set of Samsonite travel cases for personal baggage. Herman Cain... is great. Okay, I really like him, but he's rough around the edges, policy-wise. Ron Paul is a hero of free enterprise, but his foreign policy belongs in Happy Acres, preferably under heavy sedation. John Huntsman ...well, he should be a Democrat.

The point is that almost anyone would be an improvement over what we have now in the White House: an unrepentant Marxist who detests everything and everyone that ever made America great. I'd vote for Adam Sandler before Obama, and most of his movies sucked. But at least he's a Republican.
