Americans reject Tea Party ideas - Obama AFP September 13, 2011 1:22AM
PRESIDENT Barack Obama says the "vast majority" of Americans reject the ideas of the archconservative Tea Party movement.
"We've always had a anti-federal government bent in a chunk of our population. That's nothing new," Obama has told NBC News, referring to the anti-federal nature of the Tea Party, whose fervour swept in dozens of new Republican House of Representatives members in the 2010 mid-term elections.
Many of Obama's probable opponents in the next White House election, in 2012, also subscribe to that outlook, with frontrunner Texas Governor Rick Perry repeatedly vowing to get the national government out of people's lives.
"I do think that the extreme position that you hear that says government has no role to play in growing our economy, that the federal government has no function to play in building a strong middle class, is absolutely wrong," Obama said.
"I reject that view. And I think the vast majority of Americans reject that view."

“We’ve always had a anti-federal government bent in a chunk of our population. That’s nothing new,”
OK, OBlowme, so we’re “bent” huh?
What a condescending schmuck he is.
Hey, Professor Stoopid, the elections of 2010 were a teachable moment...
The can be synergistic terms of a mental disorder...
He personally has lost my respect, but the office he holds still has it.
Just let him keep thinking that and plan his campaign accordingly...
"I reject that view. And I think the vast majority of Americans reject that view."Looks like Barry's back on the Cocaine.
(Quick. Someone check his right arm for needle tracks.)
The pap that spews from Barack Obama’s mouth never, ever, fails to astound me. He - and his cabal in the Administration, his propgandists within the so-called “MSM”, and the rest of the useful idiots in academe and Hollywood - do not get it. The Tea Party is not a monolithic, ultraconservative entity comprised of bigots, racists, and mouth-breathers. Rather, the Tea Party is AMERICA, and AMERICANS, who are tired of what the leftists have done to the USA.
The Tea Party and GOP are not the “Party of No”. They are the party of “HELL NO!”. And those representatives were sent to the People’s House with one mission - to stop Barack Obama - PERIOD.
Real Americans are EMBRACING Tea Party views.
Obama is delusion-ally wrong, as usual.
Then we just have to work harder to educate them. Some are entrenched, but there are a lot of fence sitters out there that need e.g., hear and read Sarah's Indionola, Iowa speech.
The Tea Pary is the American People!
