Greta thoght it was shocking that Michelle insinuated that Perry made his decision because of a donation to his campaign.

Palin counters that Repubicans should be sensitive to actions that are wrong, or look wrong, and should be ready to call each other out. She also predicted that Michelle would take a lot of hits over calling out Perry.

Palin went on to say that she was Gov. of AK at the same time that Perry made his Eo on Gardisil. Palin said that AK would never would force its children to take this vaccine. She called it an example of “crony capitalism”.

Greta asked if she woud be running. She said she still hasn’t made her decision. Said she’s enjoying making speeches and having the other candidates pick up her talking points the very next day. Said she’s having fun.

She’s still thinking and praying about it and will not be forced to jump in. Still concerned about all the issues.

Although not mandated in Alaska, Gardisal appears on their 2011 Recommended Immunization Schedule as to be given to girls and boys at ages 11-12. Here’s a headline from the State of Alaska Epidemiology Bulletin from Nov 3, 2008:

Alaska to Initiate Federal Vaccines for Children Program
for Human Papillomavirus and Meningococcal Vaccines

Mandated. No. Promoted by the Government of Alaska. Yep.

I’m beginning to think she isn’t running. She is absolutely right that candidates should be sensitive to actions that are wrong, or look wrong.

She is on a TV show, being paid to discuss the campaign and the debate, and is making attacks or defenses of various candidates. She is doing this under the cover of being a commentator for a news organization, getting free air time for her commentary.

If she announced tomorrow that she was running, it would look like she was using her paid position to take down other candidates to clear the way for her run. But Sarah Palin would never do that — she understands the appearance of wrongdoing.

I think Perry wasn’t as careful in his years as governor as he could have been. I don’t think he did anything wrong, but in 10 years of having to get donations, he was going to have a few that people could exploit.

Palin is fortunate — she never ran for office while in office, so she never had to worry about getting donations that might look funny (check it out, she never raised a dime while she was Governor, it was all before her election).

I find it ironic that Palin condemns Perry for crony capitalism while she’s on the payroll of Fox News while making that claim.
