Yep, it really was a lotta fun. Then, to top it all off, the match supervisor, who is also a gunsmith, had a gun ready for me and brought it with him to the match.

He had cleaned and safety-checked my recent purchase (another Mosin, this one from the Tula plant, made in 1938). It's the upper one in the photo below. Didn't get a chance to shoot it yet, but I'll give a report when I do.
