The gang rape of Lara Logan should have been a wake up call.

Why do we send journalists into dangerous situations like this?

Why do we send FEMALE journalists into such places?

Hate to get political, but western women journalists tend to be of a liberal feminist mindset. They can be naive about how the world outside of the U.S. and western Europe treats women. These female journalists may think that they are untouchable or have some exalted status in the rest of world, because they are western journalists. Lara Logan found out the hard way that they can become targets. It makes no sense to me that we continue to send women journalists into danger; into cultures who do not respect the rights of women.

And all of the journalists are naive about this whole Arab spring. The MSM narrative is that they are overthrowing dictators, wanting only to live in parliamentary democracy. They think of themselves as allies of the revolutionaries. But the revolutionaries do not have any reverence for the fact that a CNN news crew is reporting these stories to the world. Lara Logan should have been a wake up call that these are dangerous people. We may feel some sympathy for them as they overthrow dictators but these news people, with their western oriented outlook and liberal worldviews, should be smart enough to stay out of the way of danger.

I read an article by a young, American black female progressive who traveled to Haiti to help after an earthquake. I’m not actually sure what she was doing as far as “help” goes. But she reports she was raped by a Haitian acquaintance she was trying to help; a fellow traveler. All the while she’s being raped she reports telling him things like: “Don’t do this to me. You’re just acting out your hatred of the white man.” I can’t imagine he could rape a woman who apparently never shut up and never caught on to the fact that her world view was irrelevant to this guy. (Incidentally, the rape was the fault of the oppressive white society that forced this man to do it.)

If enough feminist journalists get their butts kicked by women hating Muslims, maybe women in this country will pay more attention to who they vote for as President. Let’s see, if one is a Muslim, and the other is a Christian, which one should a woman vote for?

Journalists, especially the female of the species, think that their PRESS pass makes them invulnerable and bulletproof. Yes, yes, yes . . . I know that is idiotic, but that's how most “journalists” think.

Case in point: A group of journalists — driver/bodyguard, cameraman, sound man, and reporter — are going through civil war ravaged Yugoslavia. They are driving on the Yugo equivalent of an interstate in a van passing buildings that are still burning from recent fighting and tank or artillery fire. They have already taken intermittent sniper fire. They pull off the interstate and into a built-up area for some location shots. Mindful of snipers they move back into the shadows of the shattered buildings.

A French crew shows up. The female reporter is bound and determined to get some great panoramic background shots and moves out into the open. The other film crew yells for her to get under cover due to the threat of snipers. She ignores the warnings, a shot rings out, and the French reporterette drops dead.
