I think he was hired specifically to write columns attacking Bush. As far as I know he has never said one favorable thing about Bush in any of his columns (even Biden had something nice to say about Bush at the ceremony in Shanksville on Saturday).

This morning "Fox & Friends" mentioned the "fake heroes" bit in a teaser but I didn't get to watch the actual report, so I had assumed it was in an editorial from The New York Times. That it was just the rabid dog Krugman perhaps makes it a little better--but there's still no reason for him to be paid to write his tripe.
