I just got this in my e-mail. Can work out translation later, and anyone else with more time can feel free to beat me to it, but the video transcends language barriers.

I hope you can excuse my ignorance and let me ask questions so that I can better understand what is happening.

Are these homes built on land they had purchased, if so are they reimbursed at all when this happens?

Are they given any warning ahead of time, so that they can at least try and remove their belongings?

Were they ever told before they built that they couldn’t or did things change after they built?

Again, I’m sorry for my ignorance, I’m just trying to better understand and learn, thank you.

Ten years ago, the Israeli government was openly encouraging people to move there and build there. Far from warning them not to, they were urging them to do so.

As for the rights and wrongs of it, and whose property it is, and how this all came about, this article says it better than I can: http://www.israelnationalnews.com/Articles/Article.aspx/10557#.Tmof16ia-7U

They were told generally that their houses were ordered demolished by the High Court, but not when. That was deliberately made a surprise.

This is not the first time that they’ve done a midnight eviction like this. It is, however, the first time to my knowledge that they’ve come disguised in black uniforms with their identity badges concealed.

Here is a story that explores that facet more fully: http://www.allvoices.com/contributed-news/10290157-men-in-black-destroy-jewish-homes

Full disclosure: I dictated that article to my wife an hour ago, and she posted it under her name.

Thank you for replying. Now I have MORE questions... :)

"This and other questions regarding ownership will be considered next week, when Migron presents its case in the Magistrate's Court."

Why would the higher court (assuming it is higher), the Supreme Court, rule before the Magistrate's Court ruled? If the case hasn't been settled by the Magistrate's Court and the case is pending--how could they plow down the homes before a ruling?

At 3AM, they rousted out families in three houses including children and newborn infants and destroyed their homes in front of them. These families and their friends in the community, fought back as best they could, but were powerless in front of this well armed, well organized mob that claimed to be following the orders of the Israeli Govenrnment.

Why did they select these 3 homes in the Migron community to bulldoze down? Why at 3am and were the families given prior warning? Why would they bulldoze all their belongings with the home, belongings are moveable, were they given an option to collect their belongings? Will they be coming again in the wee hours to bulldoze more? I just don't understand this.

Answer to all questions: Beats me. It would seem their should be a finding of fact before they make a judgment, and certainly before they take action. I live right near another village (I will not call them “settlements,” even under torture) under threat. They were bulldozed last year, and rebuilt. Bat Ayin Bet had a house bulldozed earlier this year. I attended the twilight concrete pouring of the new foundation. Three AM, as I said, is a favorite time for these evictions. This time, however, they were ready for them, and a crowd of concerned citizens photographed and filmed everything, and got it out on the Internet. Hope this continues and gets better organized. We’ve got to turn the tide.

Is there a website or something that would help with visibility and explaining it better to those of us who don’t understand this? I think that would help...

Despite its shortcomings, I recommend Arutz Sheva, and for more thorough analysis, the Jerusalem Post is sometimes excellent. Yisrael Hayom also has an English-language web site. And of course, Free Republic is often a great resource. Nobody should be without a bookmark to MEMRI, Dhimmi Watch, and Jihaad Watch. Try following the writings of Abu Toammeh, Amir Taheri and Daniel Pipes, usually available in the NY Post.
