Thank you, I’ve been looking for that link all night. The quote in the AP story does not appear to be a direct quote but is a paraphrase of her intentions.
That being said, the story made the rounds around the world exactly as I posted it and I can find no follow up denials or corrections from the Palin camp or Palin herself. If she did not intend to convey the impression that she was intending to make an announcement in late August or early September, she had an obligation to correct the story. It’s not like she didn’t have access to the press or the internet.
So it is past August and closing in on the end of September. She is looking very indecisive. The least she could do is say whether or not she intends to run. She does not need to make an official announcement until she is ready to enter the fray.
But nothing is stopping her from saying something like “It is my intention to run and I will be making a formal announcement at a later time.”
She’s playing this game with the media and teasing everyone. That hand has been played too long. It is past time for her to show her cards.
Frankly, I do not believe she intends to run. Maybe she will prove me wrong. I’ve been wrong before.
You need to stop that. The (LPFOKETT GAHCOEEP-w/o*) is not permitted to be wrong. (Publicly or when speaking with Shields Up!

Thank you, Ive been looking for that link all night. The quote in the AP story does not appear to be a direct quote but is a paraphrase of her intentions.
Too bad you couldn't restrain yourself from trying to berate and bully everyone who disagreed with you until you had verified the facts. First, you might not be a liar, but AP certainly is. The AP "quote" is not a paraphrase at all - it is a misquote, and worse, it's a deliberate misrepresentation designed to put increased time-pressure on Palin for an early announcement and provoke these types of divisive, distracting discussions.
As I pointed out, AP is notorious for lying, just as they did for years in stories about President Bush. Do you remember the "Bush said Saddam sought to buy yellowcake from Niger" lie which was repeated over and over? He never said that. And as the video clip rawhide posted showed, Sarah Palin never said early September - the AP did.
That being said, the story made the rounds around the world exactly as I posted it and I can find no follow up denials or corrections from the Palin camp or Palin herself. If she did not intend to convey the impression that she was intending to make an announcement in late August or early September, she had an obligation to correct the story.
Nonsense, Palin had no such obligation. She merely had a choice. AP and almost every other media outlet have run literally hundreds of incorrect or deliberately dishonest stories about Palin for the last three years, and she had the choice of whether to expend endless time and energy trying to refute them all or to just ignore them.
You may not like her choices, but it's none of your or my business, and she certainly was not obligated. The only obligation in these matters is yours, mine and everyone else's, to trust nothing from the media and verify things for ourselves before going off half-cocked.
So it is past August and closing in on the end of September.
It is September 9th, which is much closer to the beginning of September than to the end. We could also say, golly, it's September, we're really closing in on Christmas, but I believe most people realize we need to deal with Halloween and Thanksgiving first. So, why the frantic hyperbole? Palin even qualified her statement with "basically" it's August or September. She didn't say it's "absolutely" August or September.
And xzins, your attempts to get P-Marlowe off the hook with: August/September is what she says in the video link. That fits with both late summer and with late august/early september. is simply incorrect. It does ot "fit". Early September is not equivalent to the whole month of September. P-Marlow has blustered his way through the discussion berating others and insisting Palin said early September. She did not - AP said it. What remains to be seen is if he's honest enough to admit he was wrong.
She is looking very indecisive.
Again, nonsense. What she is doing is exhibiting tactical skill and innovation in keeping her enemies guessing and not allowing them to dictate her game plan. Politics is war by other means, and Palin is approaching it as such. As another poster has noted, she's consistently applying the principles taught by Sun Tzu in "The Art of War".
Shes playing this game with the media and teasing everyone.
So what? They deserve all the frustration, embarrassment and ridicule she can heap upon them.
That hand has been played too long. It is past time for her to show her cards.
Your opinion, which is fine. I believe differently. I think she's running an innovative tactical and strategic guerrilla campaign which is keeping her enemies off-balance. There's no guarantee it'll work, of course, then again, it's her choice. And of course, she may not run. Why don't we just chill out and wait and see?
Finally, let's be very clear about one thing. I have not called you a liar - I merely pointed out that you hadn't done your homework, didn't have the facts from the original source, and were therefore possibly mistaken, which was confirmed by the video link which was subsequently posted.
I also pointed out that despite these lapses on your part you engaged in unjustified belligerent and derisive behavior towards your fellow Freepers.
There is an adage which goes "An honest man, once he has been shown to be in error must, by definition, cease being one, or the other". You insisted throughout the thread that Palin said early September - she didn't. You weren't lying, but you were wrong, and obnoxious about it to boot. You have been shown where you were in error, so in which category will you now choose to be...?
