LONGVIEW, Wash. (AP) — Hundreds of Longshoremen stormed the Port of Longview early Thursday, overpowered and held security guards, damaged railroad cars, and dumped grain that is the center of a labor dispute, said Longview Police Chief Jim Duscha.

Six guards were held hostage for a couple of hours after 500 or more Longshoremen broke down gates about 4:30 a.m. and smashed windows in the guard shack, he said.

No one was hurt, and nobody has been arrested.

Awesome. The union needs to ramp it up. We need to show America Obama’s army before the elections.

I could see this becoming a spectator sport or a new TV channel.

SCABS vs UNIONS only one team survives...

It is rather sick. That hasn’t stopped TV producers yet though.

If they had not elected moonbeam... they could call out the National Guard and kill them all.

Moonbeam is in California... we have Christine Fraudoire.

Longview Washington, NOT Long Beach California.

Isn’t ‘Moonbeam’ in Cal or does Wash have its own Moonbeam?

"...the right to work there..."

The right?! That equates to the union saying that they can force employers to hire them. Force them. Or else the union thugs will destroy your property and no arrests will be made.

The war Hoffa declared is in full swing and his "troops" have been mobilized. Wake the hell up, America.

Nobody arrested?

I don't think you've heard the end of the story on that.

nobody has been arrested

This country --> crazy. Gee, bet that will go unnoticed by every thug here (the no arrests part). This will be lawsuit territory for anyone arrested the next time, probably, if nobody is arrested this time.

Yes they think it is their right and that they can force you to hire them - but it also my right to do whatever to resist hiring them.

But wait this report has to be wrong. Everyone knows that unions are good and that the Tea Party are terrorists. This was an act of terrorism so it had to be the TP that did it. Do I really need to put /S?

That was my first thought as well. Call up the guard and put the disturbance down fast.

oh boy ... special rights, special privileges. That always works against those who obey the law. When criminal behavior is special rights, and protected granting special privileges society always suffers the consequences, as will possibly be in this case, where those arrested will point to this prior decision, as the judge slams the gavel and says, Case Dismissed. This is not going to be fun for society as these incidents spread.

One avenue for relief is the Freedom from Union Violence Act (FUVA), which targets all extortionate activity, even if committed by union militants in pursuit of “legitimate” objectives.

Expect unions to fight this proposed law.

Union power is dependent upon their ability to use violence, sabotage, and intimidation to stop an employer from continuing to operate with replacement workers. Otherwise a strike would simply be considered a mass resignation.

Yep! I’m sure the TP goes around “Cutting Brake Lines” and the Union man was just trying to fix it!

(that’s destruction of property and if a civi did it, maybe attempted murder)

Nothing to see move along /sarc
