I wish she weren’t going to do a rebuttal tomight. I wish she’d just ignore Obama since we finally got the rest of the republicans to ignore him. sheesh!

She’s done. I want to learn more about Rubino because the present lot of candidates just aren’t getting the job done. Cain is the biggest dissapointment.

It's still very early in the campaign, and we must consider both the source of this report as well as the MSM outlet that produced and moderated the debate last night.

PMSNBC has an interest in who ultimately ends up as the Republican nominee. They want a milquetoast candidate to go up against Obama, so that their voters will be more committed to vote on election day. They don't want conservative voters to have more forward momentum than the union goons, leftists, racists and other filthy radicals who will be buying votes and stuffing ballot boxes.

The focus was on Perry since he's the new kid on the block; and, being the sexist pigs that liberals are, they put Perry up against the man who was closest behind him in polls.

That said, the dope with the yellow tie last night needs to drop out and go order take out Chinese food, "in their language."

I have never seen Palin “waffling” - interesting choice of a word to disparage her. If the current lineup does not lead to producing a strong Conservative candidate - Palin will get in. In her heart - I think she is hoping there is someone who will emerge with her values and commitment to restoring this nation’s liberty loving character - but if duty calls - she has a servant’s heart.

Just heard Chris Wallace answer a question regarding Michelle - why she earlier seemed relevant but slipped into the background last night.

He then stated that she was asked her FIRST question a mere 19 minutes into the debate!

He mentioned that in a similar situation, Rick Santorum interrupted the earlier debate to demand to be included, indicating that Bachmann, in failing to do so, missed her chance to promote herself when she was ignored.

I don't know that I agree w/Wallace (whom I dislike intensely as being the carbon copy of his dad, a sniveling smart-ass, looking his nose down on everyone not him) because these "debates" are really anything but.

I've not had speech nor debate since high school but do remember the structure of debate and nothing that has happened so far has in any way allowed significant candidates to "show their stuff!"

To give so much time to Jon Huntsman was absurd and what a jerk, next to Chris Wallace, Huntsman makes Wallace seem almost pleasant.

Sarah Palin continued waffling about whether she would jump in.”

Not according to many here. She’s totally in, she’s going to walk away with it, and you are a fool rino if you don’t buy that. (Sarah’s coming, and you have NO IDEA what the tsunami is going to be like!).

Maybe so.

But at least a little, teensy weensy amount of skepticism is not irrational at this stage....

We’ll see soon enough. Until then, we’ll enjoy the speculation, even if it is rather heavyhanded at times...

Nice lady, good for the debates, out of her league. She simply doesn’t have the experience needed.

Surely we’ve learned that after electing the current disaster.

Operation Clear the FieldTM continues.

Seems a lot of people are scared to let the voters decide.

Once again the media is doing the choosing. Not buying it her. She did well...but, like Herman Cain, Rick Santorum, and Ron Paul—she did not get as many questions, ie., face time, as Perry or Myth.

And who decided that? Why...the media moderators of course. It was preordained to be Romney/Perry. Last time “they” propped up McCain, this time they are pulling the rug out from under Bachmann.

NO!!!

On a broader scale, it looks more and more like Sarah Palin is making the proper strategic decision by delaying her official entry into the race.

I believe part of the Palin strategy here is to let the initial field of candidates winnow itself down to a couple of serious contenders (in this case, Perry and Romney). Then enter the race as a fresh alternative to those two and collect the resources of those in the second tier or those who have dropped out.

There is obviously danger in a strategy like this as you risk a front-runner getting so far ahead in money and resources that they become difficult to catch with a late-entry. But I think Palin has people who know what they are doing and they are probably coaching her to stay on the sidelines as long as practically possible.

Palin is an a unique situation here where she already has near 100% name recognition among voters and a loyal base of near-fanatical supporters (consider me guilty as charged). Once she announces, it will have the effect of a thermonuclear bomb on this entire race.

Many of people I speak to are eager for Palin to run but are embarrassed about expressing their support for her publicly as they don't want to look stupid to their family and friends if she decides in the end not to run. But once she's in it, I think many of us will be surprised at the wave of grass-roots support she will receive.

Lastly, I want to make mention of Palin's two speeches over the weekend in Iowa and New Hampshire. She saw first hand the grass-roots support and the enthusiasm the people gave her when they chanted "Run, Sarah, Run." From all I know about Sarah Palin so far, I gather that she is not the kind of person who would take advantage of regular folks like this. If she was truly not running, I think she would have quietly gotten word out to these PAC groups not to waste their time.
