Senate upholds Lynch veto blocking RGGI repeal (EPIC NH Republican RINO infested Party FAIL)

CONCORD — The Senate failed to override Gov. John Lynch’s veto of an attempt to repeal the state’s Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative.

The 15-9 vote was one vote short of the two-thirds majority needed to override the veto of Senate Bill 154. Senate President Peter Bragdon, R-Milford, sided with Lynch.

The Senate had attempted a reform of the program rather than outright repeal in June, but the House refused to compromise.

House leaders said they will be back with another repeal attempt next year. Speaker of the House William O’Brien called the RGGI cap-and-trade system an "income redistribution ploy."

RGGI is a system in which power companies must buy allowances for carbon-dioxide emissions at auction. The auction proceeds are distributed regionally for use in energy-efficiency programs. The cost to consumers is about 35 cents a month.

If somebody else had thought of it first I might agree with you. Not sure what this has to do with the primary, which I don’t really care about one way or the other.
At least they overturned the Castle Doctrine veto. Next week, we’ll do the same in the house.

I thought NH had some brains but it looks like they’ve got the same idiots running things as out here in CA. And it was a RAT that vetoed this with the repubs pushing to over ride? Sounds like bizzaro world to me.

NH Republican Party can not even over turn this enviro-marxist bill and the State of NH is to be trusted with “First in the Nation” status? Haaahaa the rest of the country should wake up and punish the NH RINO Party, John Sununu and his minions carry on...

I am a NH resident that is sick of the NH Republican Party. It is war in NH, Conservatives vs RINO’s.

The logic is: NH is very liberal, despite its many-years-earlier somewhat conservative trends (compared to Mass and Vermont.)

However, it is still very liberal, and will give a tremendous liberal bias ti the RINO’s and party-controlling DC attitudes. That’s how HW Bush and Dole and McCain got their push.

Start the orimary across the south. Start in TX and the central plains - don’t let the “Iowa tradition” (of populism and free silver - remember the past 130 years of farm state liberalism - rule how the GOP picks its first primary losers.

What is your definition of “very liberal”?

America is liberal in many aspects of the political realm. Do you think NH is more or less liberal than the median? Further, do you really think that “first in the nation” could be changed to a more conservative state even if we wanted it to be? Even further, are you honestly suggesting that American voters are such deluded sheep that they are going to vote a certain way simply because others have voted a certain way? (Democrats maybe)

No, some parts of America are still conservative, with NH being on the liberal side of the fence. NH does not deserve the;First in the Nation status. This First Primary shtick is about the GOP RINOs like Sununus and Judas Gregg types along with the Demoncrat counter parts and the Lame Stream media all in collusion to use this “first in the Nation” crap to oiniont the likes of Juan McPain. It is a political game and we taxpayers need to change it ASAP or we will end up with Mittens Scumney as the GOP candidate. Yes, most of American voters including many REPUBLICANS are deluded sheep......hence my recent property purchases outside the US of A.

The "first in the nation" status was not ever intended to be a prize for most conservative state so I'm not sure why you are saying NH doesn't "deserve" it's status. Even if Republicans and conservatives wanted to move it to a more conservative state it's unlikely that would happen.

The only thing that needs to be done to stop Rinos from winning NH primaries is to close the primaries to anyone that isn't a Republican. I'm not sure why the logic was in allowing Democrats or Independents to choose the Republican candidate for President, but whatever it was it has to be seen as a failed experiment.

You ain't visited lately, go home after you spend your money. In my area you are making good money if you make $15 an hour, if you live in Eyes area it is probably less.

There is a huge underground economy where people where people don't care what the rules are as long as the cash is up front and they do a good job also.

So, in the last election Republicans take back the state house, the state sentate, and elect a Republican Senator. Despite this are you claiming that the NH Republican party is an "epic fail" because of this one issue that we literally lost by one vote? Seems like a stretch.

We've had some struggles in this state with both Democrats and RINOs but what state hasn't? At least we are moving in the right direction.

Given that the State Budget, Tax burdens and size of the overal government is within 4% of were it was under the demoncrats I would call that a fail. As usual, the RINO’s talk big Conservatism, then go to Concord and join the tax/spend baby killers in making sure the status quo is maintained. How did all those veto overides go with solid majorities there Durus? Well....? Nancy Stiles of Hampton is now a Demoncrat in my book. Listening to her campaign you would have thought she was Sarah Palin and Ron Paul.

As for Ayotte, she has done zero since taking office. Any major votes or legistalation to date? Have you tried to meet her? . Worse than Judas Gregg. How about getting a response from her office? I have and zero I mean zero responses How about the fact she had Juan McPain campaigning for her...... and she considers McPain a mentor....Ayotte wants more for Ayotte this is nothing more than a stepping stone, just like those sickening e-mails when she was waffling about the death penality charge for Addison Stix.... nothing about the death penality only pause for the impact on her political career.. Great moral compass there ayotte. NH Repubulic Rino party makes me ill.

Did you expect the water to part and the world to heal? How about some realistic expectations. Some of the veto overrides are going pretty well Article10, thanks for asking. Well, have another complaint?
Nancy Stiles is a politician that lied to get elected? Tell me it ain't so!

You equate a "do nothing" Ayotte (your charge) with being the same as Gregg that actively stabbed us in the back? That's irrational. You anticipate a new senator being able to accomplish what in 8 months?

You know what makes me ill? Whiny people that expect everything immediately and spend so much time bitching about every little thing that they seem desperate to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. If you can't see the strides made in NH over just the last couple of years I don't know what else to say to you.
