LOS ANGELES Hillary Clinton for president?
So far she hasnt said she would, but I think its not a bad idea, former Vice President Dick Cheney told ABCs Jonathan Karl in an interview on Wednesday to promote his new book In My Time.
Cheney declined to say whether he thought the current Secretary of State would have been a better president than Barack Obama, but called her a pretty formidable individual.
I think shes probably the most competent person theyve got in their in their cabinet. And frankly, I thought she was gonna win the nomination last time around, Cheney said. Maybe if the Obama record is bad enough and these days its not very good, given the shape of the economy maybe there will be enough ferment in the Democratic Party so that there will be a primary on their side.
During the interview, Cheney criticized several of the Republican presidential candidates, including front-runner Rick Perry whose comments about Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke, Cheney described as over-the-top.
While Cheney sounded positive notes about Clinton, he said not to expect him to endorse anyone on the Republican side anytime soon.
I dont plan to endorse anybody till we get a lot farther down the road, he said.

Pretty crude.
>> Dick Cheney: “I think shes probably the most competent person theyve got in their in their cabinet.”
I’m not sure this will change her attitude towards Dick.
On purpose.
Old media friends say the private BO is very different than the hip, urbane, oh so cool public BO.
Sadly very true.
THAT is funny!
“Yeah, thats what I took from it as well. I like Cheney, but he definitely has some globalist associations.”
Agreed...he has our very best interests at heart from a patriotic sense but he is a CFR guy. I still would have him over for dinner and a scotch though.
I agree 100%.
Ugly Truth: They are going to burn and people are going to die regardless of whether he’s primaried or taken down in the general.
People need to be prepared because it IS GOING to happen.
The Dems get to keep them at home for 2012. They'll come back out and vote in 2014.
That is definitely what is called “damning with faint praise”. He just said their cabinet is seriously lacking in talent.
Hes ok with the Fed?? Thats disturbing
Of course he's ok with the Fed & irritated over any criticism of Bernake or the Fed. Cheney has some good points, but he is first & foremost a globalist, believer in the New World Order and a bona fide member of the left-wing, socialist, globalist Council on Foreign Relations. Your membership is not going to be renewed if you knock the Fed or any other elitist institution.
.
but called her (Hillary Clinton) a pretty formidable individual.
I think shes probably the most competent person theyve got in their in their cabinet.....
During the interview, Cheney criticized several of the Republican presidential candidates, including front-runner Rick Perry
So Dick Cheney feels that Hillary Clinton is a formidable opponent? and is the most competent person in 0dumb0's cabinet? Well that's not surprising considering that pretty much all of 0dumb0's other appointments are either grossly incompetent or just flat out commie pigs who belong in prison, not the U.S. government.
But seriously, tell me Dick Cheney, other than Hillary being first lady for AK governor Bubba, and then first lady during Bubba's lecherous 8 years, what exactly has Hillary ever accomplished in any thing? She's been Bill Clinton's sidekick for most of her life? And her senate career or accomplishments were pretty much zilch, and she is unaccomplished as Sec of State.
And yet Cheney criticizes the Repub presidential nominees and praises Hitlary.
What is it with former Repubs? Can't they just STFU and remain silent rather than praising demoRATs or 0dumb0 or Hitlary, and then criticising Repubs, especially conservative or TEA Party Repubs. Cheney is just another elitist Repuke, who hates the TEA Party movement and would rather just have Repubs in the perpetual sniveling minority or appeasing the demoRATs socialist agenda.
I disagree. I think that is exactly what Cheney is doing, is praising the non-existent accomplishments & non-existent credentials of Hitlary and then turning around and criticising & bashing conservative Repub candidates for president or the TEA Party.
I think that establishment Repubs like Cheney & other Washington DC Repub elitists are scared to death of the TEA Party and conservative Repubs who refuse to toe the sniveling, pandering, appeasing Party line.
Cheney the western Republican and I parted company years back when he became an active proponent of the ‘new world order’. He seems now to be raking out the dirt piles.
PS...your post is excellent. Thank you
Wonderful words. How I wish this point of view was presented more often on FR. Many of us believe it but it needs to be spoken out far more often!!!!!!
Absolutely not! I love Cheney, but Chaos Part Deux not a smart move.
That was the picture I conjured up from the title of the thread. Someone should do a cartoon.
“Hussein is a disaster. Hitlery would be a train wreck,”
If you are on that train, as we all are, she would be a disaster too.
I think it would be much harder for the GOP nominee against Her Thighness instead of the Marxist in Chief in 2012.
Most non-politico people I know believe she is a "moderate." And they will probably associate her with the economy during the Clinton years.
But, she is in fact a hard core leftist. She did, after all, create and champion socialized medicine (HillaryCare), she describes herself as a "progressive" and she co-founded the vile Soros Leftist group Center for American Progress. She is anything BUT the "moderate" image she tries to convey.
Why on earth would Cheney suggest Hillary? What the hell is he thinking? It's very disappointing. Ruling Class Elite indeed.
