They are speaking of a border like the Canadian border were we actually see and end to border problems.

The only way we will ever get that border is for Mexico to stop robbing their people of opportunity and stop aiding the drug cartels.

He doesn't support a border wall.

I don't support one along the entire border either -- it is a colossal waste of resources and won't stop illegal immigration. We should have one in strategic locations, but not everywhere.

Regardless, that is a far cry from a "vision of open borders".
