Wary that some are joining the grassroots conservative movement merely to sell books and enhance their celebrity status, a Tea Party group is putting the heat on former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin to make her presidential plans clear.
In a Tuesday statement, Armed Forces Tea Party Patriots paints former GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin as the prime example of that kind of behavior. The group, which consists of former military members, wants Palin to announce whether she will seek the White House or sit out the 2012 race.
If not we are at risk of having major Tea Party speeches and events used as political rallies for a selected candidate [versus] a citizen based movement that forces the legislative agenda and serves as a fundamental check to the current corrupt culture in Washington, D.C., the group said in the statement.

And may have peaked too soon. Politics are fluid. And things change quickly. Perry declared 23 days ago. The MSM hasn't even STARTED his colonoscopy. NOTHING is certain at this point.
Funny! I don’t remember the Hill running any articles in 2008 about the One centering His movement around Him.
They never cite which Armed Forces Tea Party Patriots branch made the stastemnt...I see nothing under their main banner (short search on Google) anyone have the actual quote?
Wrong. The Tea Party has spawned millions of leaders. Each and every Tea Party participant is a leader.
This is what made the Tea party hard for the other side to demonize. Once figures become so called “leaders” the other side has individual personalities to focus on to attack the whole thing.
Leaders(individual personalities)are the reason most movements fail in time.
Sounds like a false flag group to me.
FYI, rob777 has been smearing Sarah Palin with an extraordinary number of posts (like this one.) The anti-Palin propoganda seems to be a full-time job for him. Please see his posting history.

Romney will not get in if the candidates are smart enough to tie him to Obama/Romneycare. But it’s a good meme, ain’t it.
I’m not sure it does much good for him to lure Palin in to split the vote between herself, Bachmann (if she stays in) and Perry if he’s not still in the race to take advantage. And if he does anything other than win in New Hampshire, he very well may not be. And if “Little Miss Unelectable” keeps outdrawing him on his own turf, that’s a problem for him.
Thanks for the link deport..saw nothing at the AFTP website to indicate they are the group referred to in The Hill article. Their last news release was Aug.24th 2011 on the topic of hate speeech..nothing about Palin at all.
I just sent these guys an email to get them to comment on the story..sounds to me like their good name is getting abused.
I think he might be for Governor Perry. He lives in Texas.
Look at the posting histories. The Rick Perry supporters, not true Tea Party members, are the ones bashing Palin for not making a quick decision. I have been out there fighting The Left for a long time and Perry’s supporters are exactly the same — they use the same slimy tactics of smear jobs and personal attacks. They are politics as usual.
The assertions they are making are ludicrous. Sarah Palin can declare whenever she wants. It’s a tough decision and she can take whatever time she needs to make up her mind. It’s only her slimy opponents who will take every oppotunity to denigrate her who will claim she is leading us on. Ronald Reagan waited until November 13th to declare. Was he leading us on? Campaigns should not be a year and a half long. Long campaigns are politics as usual and they are not healthy for this country.
Selling books and making movies are not corrupt. Ronald Reagan wrote books and, of course, made movies. Do these people want her to instead prostitute herself to special interests like Rick Perry has done?

So who is the “other” conservative? All I’ve seen so far is a RINO and a ‘Rat in conservative clothing.....
One other thing. Who are the “Armed Forces Tea Party Patriots”?
