To: The Bronze Titan

The Texas legislature cut $30 million from the yearly budget, and then added $40 million back into the Forest Service/fire budget via the rainy-day fund.

Why didn’t you mention that the budget actually increased once the annual budget was “balanced”, and that the departments did get money from the state?

Because here's how the Texas budget was "balanced"!

"...facing a $6.6 billion shortfall for its 2010-2011 fiscal years. It plugged nearly all of that deficit with $6.4 billion in Recovery Act money, allowing it to leave its $9.1 billion rainy day fund untouched."

So much for using "STIMULUS" money to "create jobs"! We've all been had by everyone!
