Turd Blossom is at it again, because he knows that if Perry wins, his visits to the Whitehouse will look something like this:

Truth = Toxic. Interesting perspective...

It should not be replaced by a state-level program it should be replaced by individual retirement accounts.

State-level socialism is still socialism

He is right.

Look at those who scream on FR when SS comes up. There are very few who will say “I will take care of mine and myself”.

Perry ended his chances when he spoke out about SS. No one really wants to address the problem, or the fact that they have to start being responsible for themselves. Same with Fedgov pensions.

I have come to realize that it will take a complete collapse to change things.

- "And if you say Social Security is a failure and ought to be replaced by a state-level program, then people are going to say, ‘What do you mean by that?’ and make a judgment based on your answer to it,” he added.

Isn't that how it's supposed to work?

I wonder if Rove is posting here in FR. If so, I wonder which one of the anti-Perry gnat-swarm usernames he’s posting under.

Wouldn’t that be “held?” He’s walked back from the statements made in his book.

Statements that were truthful, but I guess there’s an election to be won...

Why does anyone care what Karl Rove thinks? I wish the media would stop giving him a platform! He is the a large part of the reason that the Rs lost control of Congress in 2006 and got shellacked in 2008.

The Tea Party was formed in response to people like him who have no guiding principles but just like to manipulate things to their advantage and then blame everyone else when there is a problem!

Of course Rove will deny any animosity towards Perry. Saying he’s “paid to be an analyst.” He’s such a POFS.

State pension plans are going belly-up all over the country and if Perry thinks we need state-level SS instead of individual accounts, that is simply insane.

I wouldn’t say its that toxic. My congressman called social security a ponzi scheme during the last election and he won.

Obviously something has to be done but it must be done carefully.

In the 1980’s public employees in Galveston, Matagorda and Brazoria counties, Texas were released from the social security system. Today those retirees have a funded account that they own and the distributions are at least 50% greater than they would have received under social security.

Once again Rove crosses the line to damage the republican party, plus what he says is inaccurate as well as irresponsible.

Rove is suddenly the MSM darling. I’m sorry I ever supported him during the Bush years.

Perry is right about social security. Its a ponzi scheme and a joke. An even bigger joke is Karl Rove. Karl, its over for you. No one gives a shit about you anymore. Why does Fox News pay you to spout your drivel day after day? Karl, just go away, retire on your millions, and STFU.

Not sure how Perry’s remarks might play during the Republican primaries, but anyone who says they will not be harmful among some independent voters in a general election is simply kidding themselves.

Candidates can and should talk about SS (and Medicare and Medicaid) reform in a sensible way, but candidates who take it too far will pay a price at the voting booth in a general election.
