Daphni Leef: I'm Not a Leftist
Arutz Sheva ^ | 7/9/11 | Elad Benari and Yoni Kempinski

Posted on 09/06/2011 10:45:21 PM PDT by Eleutheria5

Daphni Leef, one of the leaders of the social protests in Israel, denied in a conversation with Arutz Sheva on Tuesday that the protest is a leftist protest aimed at overthrowing the government. “As an individual I can tell you that I’m not right or left,” Leef said. “I’ve lost my faith in the elected officials whoever they are. That’s why this protest is so important. “There’s no right and left here,” she added. “What we do have here is people. Each person will live by his own faith, as they say. It doesn’t matter. What does matter is that we all deserve to live here with dignity. The hardships that arise from all sides are hardships that are not related to right and left. They are related to impossible living conditions.” Leef said that “there are people who are in situations of sub-human living conditions for dozens of years and there are those in the middle class where this has permeated and any minute now they can be on the street. We are all together. We have to come out strong and say that there’s no right and left here. There are people here who want to live in this country and they don’t want to live in a situation of survival, because a situation of survival is a situation in which you can’t think of anything except for how you make ends meet.” Referring to the public letter she signed along with dozens of other pre-army-aged youths declaring a refusal to serve in the “army of occupation,” Leef said: “I’m very sorry that people choose to talk about a document I signed when I was 16 years old or something like that, when there’s a big, wide protest here. This protest is much bigger than the sum of.....

Translation: "I'm not just a commie, I'm a flaming commie."

People living on the "survival level" this dizzy person invokes don't join mass movements. Going to bed without being hungry is a 24/7 occupation.

You have to wonder what this person would think if they say the shanties of Rio or San Juan (or Chicago).

Things must be pretty good (if only momentarily) in Israel. These kinds of protests are a luxury in most of the world.

Most people call that getting a job, earning some money, living off that money...

They’ve lost faith in all the elected officials, which is why they invited Tzipi Livni to speak, and they’re neither left nor right, which is why Tzipi Livni was trashing Hareidim (ultra-Orthodox) and Mitnahalim (”settlers”) at her scheduled speech. “Just people” who hate “those people”.

Claiming that anti-IDF letter was just something she wrote as a youth sounds like Bill Clinton or David Duke trying to avoid being held to account for “youthful indiscretions” at anti-Vietnam and anti-black demonstrations. Own up. Stop lying. You’re a leftist, and take the sons of @#$@#es out.

Leef wants “a change of the economic system,” Strasler writes in his piece, in “an attempt to force Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to completely reverse his approach.” Her movement opposes privatization, free competition and free enterprise, Strasler adds, and wants “big government that imposes much greater taxes.” In another article, I read that her eight-page manifesto also calls for government-backed mortgages.

UM.... commie!!!

What? You want her to live in Jordan, with the “No Joooz allowed!” sign? She’d just have to accept Islam and be welcome, but that would mean belief in a Supreme Being (even if it is one who resembles the Incredible Hulk).

So she’ll feel right at home. She could protest it, get imprisonned, and beaten and tortured and everything. Enough with these numb-nuts Israelis who just want journalists to question her about whether she’s a leftist. She could be a martyr without even throwing herself in front of a bulldozer (Where are those damned bulldozers? In Migron? Shoot).
