I wasn't slamming him; I was actually sitting up a little straighter watching. I thought the call of tending to his state vice the debate was noble (yeah, yeah, politics mixed in..but...); but as cripplecreek pointed out, Doesn't Texas have a Lt. Governor?
Maybe while the news outlets were frothing, they (Gov and Lt. Gov) were getting the game plan in order to manage BOTH the state's problems and time management for the debates.

Exactly my point about Granholm when we had wildfires. She flew up there for an hour, got a couple of pictures taken and returned to screwing us.
The point is that she was right in saying that there was no place for her on the fire line and it was best left up to the professionals. (if only she had said the same about governing)
