HOUSTON -- At the moment, Rick Perry's camp confirms the governor still plans to participate in Wednesday night's GOP debate in California.

The governor's campaign just released his schedule showing two events in California after the debate. It appears he will leave the wildfires to appear Wednesday night in California and will continue on with planned fundraisers Thursday and Friday. It appears his brief break from campaigning hasn't hurt.

An adequate chief executive knows how to delegate.

Exactly what can Governor Perry do that he cannot do wherever he’s at?

Your firefighters and national guard and militaries are doing everything that can be done and any bills to be signed for recovery from the fires are going to have to wait until after the fires are finished anyway.

He can always do a fly-by and sign the bills passed by your legislature.

But I do appreciate the emotional situation for the governor to look like he’s doing something.

He should either be Gov. or be doing something else.

I don't care who they are but any politician that wants a new gold ring should have to let go of the brass one he already has in his hand.

Anyone that holds public office should resign if they want to get paid for doing something else. Including running for another office. At a minimum Perry and anyone else holding another office should not collect pay for days they are not at work and lose their benefits too.

I've been saying this for years and it is not just about Perry. Do your job or leave.

Exactly my point about Granholm when we had wildfires. She flew up there for an hour, got a couple of pictures taken and returned to screwing us.

The point is that she was right in saying that there was no place for her on the fire line and it was best left up to the professionals. (if only she had said the same about governing)

>> “Palin supports Perry” <<

.
No, she doesn’t, and she has made it clear as can be in her speeches over the past week.

Perry is a whore and a fool, and his political leanings have been outrageous. If he has been able to fool you, that is sad, and I hope you can recover.

And just what do you want the gov to do during few hours that he will be away? What will he do that Nim Kidd can't do?

There are very competent people at the state level working this fire...I know most of them...and they already have the governors "OK" to do what needs to be done.

So again...what do you expect Perry to do? Fly a C-130 himself and drop retardant? I mean I know he probably could but he's probably a little rusty...

Odd how many phony Palin supporters trash Perry.

Most Perry supporters actually like Sarah Palin as a conservative leader. Unfortunately, like Paul supporters, many of her supporters (not all but many) are a turn=off. Many of them are actually responsible for chasing former Palin supporters off the field and into Perry's field.

It is interesting that many Palin supporters (not all but many)are a major turn-off to American voters and they have actually chased former Palin supporters off the field and into the Perry field.

Anyone who’d pick his candidate (or abandon one) based on how the candidate’s advocates treat him on the internet probably can’t figure out how to register to vote anyway, so not to worry.

I honestly would much rather have had him skip tomorrow and gone to the one yesterday.

Tomorrow is in enemy territory, yesterday was in friendly territory in a far superior format.

His performance tomorrow is very critical. The fate of the 2012 election and quite possibly western civilization itself may rest with the NBC moderators in tomorrows debate. They will be trying their darnedest to kill his candidacy.

Very interesting! And that's the attitude of her activists that will be going door to door on behalf of a Sarah Palin nominee. Wow! Very telling.

What a shame. Sarah Palin deserves MUCH better.
