Boston To "Study" Licensing Sale of all Knives
Gun Owners Action League ^ | 9/6/11 | Sweeney

On Thursday, September 8, 2011 the Public Safety Committee of the Boston City Council will be holding a hearing with the intention of licensing the sale of knives in the city of Boston. Below is the official purpose of the hearing:

That the appropriate committee of the Boston City Council hold a hearing to examine requiring the sale of knives to be licensed by the appropriate police agency that would monitor, regulate and license businesses selling knives. Representatives from the Boston Police Department, Inspectional Services Department, and other interested parties shall be invited to attend.

The meeting will be at City Hall, Ianella Chambers, 5th Floor on Thursday, September 8, 2011 at 10 am.

We urge GOAL members to contact the Boston City Council and express their opposition to this measure. Please keep in mind that this is how gun control got its start in the Commonwealth. Currently citizens need a license to possess pepper spray. In a year or so this measure could lead to licensing citizens to possess a basic pocket knife.

Protecting YOUR freedom begins here!

Sincerely,

Mike Sweeney

Boston has passed the point of no return regarding the corrupt leading the moronic. It is a fascinating study in how a city disintegrates. Contact Boston City Council Chairman

>>> Boston To “Study” Licensing Sale of all Knives

Next thing that’s too dangerous for you and for the public in general is (a pair of) scissors ......

People simply can not be trusted with ANY kind of ‘weapon’.....

Are knives even a problem there? I know it is an “epidemic” in England but they have been disarmed for their own protection for so much longer. When will the genius overlords just outlaw all assaults so everyone can be safe & play with skittle crapping unicorns?

What about hammers and screw drivers? I can see it now. Walk into Wally World to buy a set of steak knives and whip out your driver’s license. When will this BS stop!

They had better add toothbrush to the licensed list, that is what prisoners often use.

Is Boston just looking for ways to waste time and money?

Silly...just silly.

Rumored next: can openers.

I had one confiscated at an airport. They could see it on xray but were going crazy trying to find it. If not for my expectant wife accompanying me I would have stayed there for hours demanding they either let it go thru or state in writing that in their official capacity they deemed it something subject to the 2nd Amendment and thus outside their ability to prohibit. I don't fly anymore; looks like I won't visit Boston either.
