Super PAC backing Rick Perry to spend $55 million to beat rivals, documents reveal

The new super PAC backing Rick Perry has drawn up plans to spend $55 million as part of an ambitious campaign strategy aimed at blowing away the Texas governor's rivals in early primary states and securing him the Republican nomination by next spring, according to internal committee documents obtained by NBC News.

The documents underscore the central role that such super PACs — or super political action committees unconstrained by any limits on how much they can collect from wealthy donors and corporations — will play in the 2012 presidential election.

They also show that the strategists behind the new Perry super PAC, led by a longtime Perry confidant and backed with infusions of cash from major Perry donors, are preparing to mount a full service political operation — complete with TV advertising, direct mail and social media outreach.

If it realizes its goals, the super PAC — which calls itself "Make Us Great Again" — will likely eclipse the financial operations of Perry's official presidential campaign committee, according to some Republican consultants.

I hope that you are right, she is not making any friends among the undecided by holding back. I know there are those who will love her no matter what but I don’t think folks like you are in the majority.

First, I don't think there is any problem with people who support Palin being on "Perry" threads. I do it all the time.

If you don't go on Perry threads, how could you possibly know that the other poster trolls Palin threads? Maybe they are on all the Perry threads you don't visit.

On the other hand, you visit perry threads more often than you think; here's just a few threads you've been on this month, some with multiple posts. I don't think there's anything wrong with being on threads.

Because that's the Perry supporters excuse for trolling Palin threads.

On the other hand, you visit perry threads more often than you think;

And make NO statements about Perry. However Perry supporters have a LOT of insulting things to say about Palin. And all of it has been debunked in the last 3 years. The nail in the coffin was 23,000 emails of NOTHING.

Goodnight.

You are absolutely right, and I should have mentioned that — you say almost nothing about Perry in the Perry threads. And yes, there are a lot of attacks on Palin. Of course, you aren’t the only person posting in Perry threads, and other posters aren’t nearly as polite and circumspect as you are, so there’s quite a bit of rancor on both sides.

Is a $20,000 a plate donor twice the patriot as a $10,000 a plate donor?
