Detroit is at half of its peak population, for many reasons, but certainly the thugs of the unions and the socialists of city govt have done much to wreck the auto economy over generations.

Obama’s WPA repackaged with different wordig. I recall how much WPA did ( not so) to get us out of the big depression. How much of this is just hashed over projects we will not know or be told. I can accept that roads and bridges can use refurbishing or even new construction. However, unless it can be demonstrated that such projects can/will actually be part of the total populations increase in need as well as productity the true /actual economic benefit is uncertain. I know and expect supporters of this huge increase in debt will rely on the spending creation cycle to develop wealth. However. unless you have a sustaining and robust population WPA projects phase out because there are only so many such WPA projects that are viable. It is only when people in a free envionment are allowed to make there own economy can there be positive econmomic growth without huge increases in public debt owed to someone.
I know, they just did it here on a state highway. The new asphalt is all nice and smooth, then they chip it. It does extend the life for many years, though.
Here I will offer some talking points for any fiscally responsible politicians that would care to speak out against the intentional destruction of the U.S. economy by the Marxist regime in power.
- The country’s current debt trajectory is unsustainable and has serious consequnces to our national security. It is the height of irresponsibility to call for more deficit spending on stimulus after the countries credit rating was just downgraded due to the excessive debt.
- Politicians that would attempt to risk Americas national security in order to increase their own power base in their constituencies should resign or be impeached for treason.
- We cannot continue to spend our way out of debt. The debate is over, it is clear that government spending on stimulus programs does not stimulate anything but more government spending.
We need a strong leader that will stand up to the media and this President and articulate these crucial points.
I'm absolutely thrilled that he's saving at least some of his designer lies for his big speech...
